Hopefully you aren’t too tired of the MMA action, because tonight we have more MMA in store for you with UFC 184 taking place.
This is going to be quite a PPV with two womens matches on top. Props to UFC for that. Has it really been two whole years since Ronda Rousey fought Liz Carmouche at UFC 157? Wow. And boy was that an amazing time – I still remember everyone raging so hard that Machida vs Henderson wasn’t on top. And boy did that ever backfire. I loved that.
Hopefully Rousey is not overlooking Cat Zingano with the future fights talked about such as Cyborg, and Gina Carano. Zingano is a worthy opponent who has the KO power that a lot of the female fighters lack.
Let’s get to the betting tips for UFC 184:
UFC 184 Betting Tips:
It’s up to you – but we will be betting Cat Zingano. This is less of a tip however and more just what we like to do. And no – it is NOT based on last weeks underdog special. Fact is we love Rousey and we want her to win so we’ll be betting the other side just so we can feel good if she wins even though we’re sad about Rousey. However Zingano also has the KO power and honestly +700 odds is a fairly good price.
We’re also going to bet Raquel Pennington. She’s quite the price at +600 over Holly Holm. Here’s the thing about Holm – does she have an excellent record? Yes. But a lot of her fights were carefully booked against cans. That’s not to take anything away from Holm but here’s the deal – she has not yet fought in the UFC, and she should NOT be a -800 favourite. That’s just crazy. She might earn that price eventually – but for her first fight go for Pennington here.
Finally for UFC 184, we’re going to the prelims for Alexander Torres vs Masio Fullen. This is a fight where Torres is the underdog at +140 odds but it should be a fight that is more even odds and we believe there is slight value on Torres. Neither fighter is that impressive, but this is a fight where Torres should dominate on the top. He is a very good wrestler, and Fullen, the more experienced of the two, hasn’t looked good against wrestlers. If Torres focuses on his wrestling ability he should have no worries.
Finally, still on the prelims, take Derek Lewis by first round KO. Lewis is always going to come out swinging but he is going to be super motivated after that loss to Mitrione. He’d been on a big roll in UFC and that was a shocker for him. Lewis is someone who we don’t think can ever beat a certain level of fighter – but he can beat someone who is intimidated by him. And this is one fight where his opponent is intimidated by him.
