Another winning night last night at 1-0.
We took the Nuggets at home against the Rockets and they more than got the the job done. The line was Nuggets -5 and they won 136-122. This game saw some absolutely insane offense in the first half as each team put up a 40+ point quarter and the score was 83-71 at the half. Nikola Jokic did great in this one as predicted with a 31/13/9 line, but the real story was young Malik Beasley who exploded for 35 points.
James Harden continued his 30-points scored streak, just barely with 30 points on the dot. He’s now done it in 25 straight games which is third all-time behind two such streaks from Wilt Chamberlain.
There is a huge schedule today, one of the biggest I’ve seen all season. The Lakers and Warriors are the highlight as LeBron James is back in action against Golden State. He just come back after going out on December 25 with an injury. That game was against… the Warriors. So he might have some sort of revenge on his mind. That should be fun to watch as it always is, but I won’t be tipping that.
There are just two games that stand out to me today, let’s get into them.
Denver Nuggets vs. Minnesota Timberwolves Betting Tips:
This is a schedule alert game for the Nuggets and a tough match-up to boot. This is their fourth game in six days, third game in four days and the second half of a back-to-back. That is never a good deal for any team, but especially one struggling with injuries. Gary Harris and Jamal Murray are both listed as questionable here. Malik Beasley and Monte Morris came up big last night, but they played 41 and 37 minutes respectively. That’s a big load.
Minnesota is coming off a win and unlike last night, I think Karl-Anthony Towns can give Jokic some trouble. Jokic had pretty much free reign against the Rockets and that won’t be the case here. While Robert Covington should do a fine job defending whoever he is put on. Minnesota is on a nice home stretch here and comes into tonight with a two-game rest advantage.

Atlanta Hawks vs. Phoenix Suns Betting Tips:
I typically like to stay away from teams of this, shall we say “skillset”. Lottery teams are never a good bet, but if I ever do I like to make sure they are at home and that there is some outside factor. Well, Atlanta definitely checks that box here. This is their fourth game in six days, third in four and the second half of a back-to-back. Worst of all? They have all been on the road. That is just brutal.
Phoenix should have DeAndre Ayton healthy for this one and are coming into this game on three days rest. Yes, they’ve lost nine straight games and that is a risk, but if they were ever going to win one – this is the day. They have the big advantage here and I am going with them tonight.
