What a crazy Super Bowl that was last night. Hopefully some of you followed the tips I posted in here as the Super Bowl ones went 4-0. The first NFL game I watched all season turned out to be a profitable one. Now, the world can fully focus on the greatest game in the world: NBA Basketball.
Our NBA tips were a bit more unlucky last night. We had the Hornets -5 and they won by five. The push in that game was especially tough as the Hornets made a huge comeback to grab a big lead late in the game. They had us a win and then Dwight Howard took a three (WHAT!?) and missed, Josh Jackson got the rebound and with 1 second left hit a three to push the total to five. The game ended and we pushed.
We knew that Knicks game would be close, but with a 71-69 lead heading into the fourth quarter the Knicks fell apart. They did not close the game out well and lost by 3. Sometimes you just lose. So, an 0-1 night that should’ve been a 1-1.
Indiana Pacers vs. Washington Wizards Betting Tips:
The Wizards have been playing really well since losing John Wall. Bradley Beal has come up huge in these games and Otto Porter has looked like more than just a great 3-and-D guy. Whether that is a real thing, a trick of the schedule or simply a team running on fumes remains to be seen. They have been one of the most confusing teams over the past couple of seasons and this year is no different.
They place the Pacers tonight who have played really well at home this year. They are 19-10 at home and their offense is really impressive with an Offensive Rating that ranks sixth in all of basketball. We’re over 50 games into the season so this offense is for real. Victor Oladipo is for real.
We like the Pacers PK to grab the win here. They have been playing well as of late, are great at home and the Wizards should cool down a bit going forward. Hard not to like the Pacers at this number.
Utah Jazz vs. New Orleans Pelicans Betting Tips:
The Pelicans are definitely in transition right now. They lost DeMarcus Cousins and made the trade for Nikola Mirotic, but they are really struggling to find themselves. This defense hasn’t really been there all season, but has really struggled of late. They’ve lost three of their past four and have allowed 110+ in each of those losses. Not a great look for a team with Anthony Davis and playoff aspirations. They play at home tonight against one of the hottest teams in the NBA right now, the Utah Jazz.
Utah has won four straight and five of their past six. This isn’t an easy part of the schedule either, they’ve beaten some really tough teams like Toronto, Golden State and San Antonio. Since the new year started, the Jazz are sixth in Defensive Rating and have started to look more like the team everyone thought they would be without Gordon Hayward. Rudy Gobert is a beast down low and Davis should have his hands full tonight.
The Jazz +2 should do a good job defending this New Orleans team as they search for their identity. We like them to continue their winning ways on the road tonight.
