We are now just two days away from the NBA trade deadline. The big talk is Anthony Davis and whether or not he’ll be moved. There is a chance that he will if the Lakers are willing to overpay. The Pelicans seem willing to wait until the summer to do it, but if the Lakers want to give a boatload of picks then that is another story.

That is the main story, but it’s one that it feels unlikely that we’ll see finishing this week. The lure of the Boston trade is just too much. There are a ton of other possible trades out there as well. Utah is in pursuit of Mike Conley of the Grizzlies while Marc Gasol of the Grizzlies is also available. You have to wonder if teams like the Raptors, Bucks or Sixers will make a move to improve their positioning as well. The Knicks are ready to deal, but one has to wonder if Wesley Matthews and DeAndre Jordan are just going to end up on the buyout market.

There are a lot of contenders, but not a lot of sellers this year. Still, I think we’ll see some moves. The trade deadline is always an exciting time and something always happens.

NHL Betting Tips:

San Jose Sharks at Winnipeg Jets: I am here for the locals hating the Sharks. The Sharks were caught on video saying bad things about Winnipeg and that should be all the motivation the local crowd needs to give them hell today. Throw in that the Jets have won the last three against San Jose, and the lack of Erik Karlsson, and I really like the Jets to get the win here.

Bet Jets -130

Chicago Blackhawks at Edmonton Oilers: The Oilers are falling apart right now. They’ve lost five straight and have a lackluster 12-13-1 record in home games this year. Meanwhile, the Blackhawks are hot right now. They’ve won four straight and are an underdog here. Nice little value here.

NBA Betting Tips:

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Indiana Pacers: LeBron James took the last game off, but he should be back for this one. This team needs him and they need to win to stay in the playoff picture. I don’t see him allowing them to lose here if he plays. The Pacers are without Victor Oladipo and their season has really come crashing down since that injury. There have been some rumors of them maybe moving Myles Turner (it fees like him and Sabonis can’t co-exist long term), and I just don’t see a lot of upside with them of late.

Bet Lakers -2.5

Minnesota Timberwolves at Memphis Grizzlies: I typically avoid .500-ish teams on the road, but I really like the Wolves here. The Grizzlies are going the wrong way and the trade rumors have to be messing with the team. Their depth is not impressive to me, and I think Karl-Anthony Towns can have a great game against Gasol. Marc Gasol is still a great player, but Towns athleticism should test him here.
