Welcome to the golf tips for this week.

I’ll be covering the Genesis Invitational this week and it’s finally time to pull the trigger on Bubba Watson.

I’ve said for a few weeks now that he looks like someone that is going to win a tournament. We backed him at the Phoenix Open based on that and he was able to pull out a third place there for a win.

Let’s hope the man can bring it here. He’s won this tournament multiple times.

Tiger Woods debuted here as a 16 year old. Would be nice to see him win this one but not sure he can. I’ll be rooting him on though. At 18/1 I can’t bet him. If he wins and ousts Bubba, I won’t be too sad though. Love me some Tiger Woods action.

Last week not much at the Pro-Am. We only had small bets there. Casey was the only main bet and he was looking good but had a disastrous +9 final round. Brutal.

Was fun watching Phil Mickelson strut his stuff out there.

Alrighty let’s get on with the bets shall we?

Genesis Invitational Bets:

5u on Bubba Watson to win/Top 5 at 22/1. I just have to bet the max units on Bubba here. Have to. I’ve been saying not just here but to all my friends that will listen that I just feel Bubba will win a tournament soon. He’s in form, he’s performed extremely well here before. I’ve just got to go balls to the wall on Bubba to do the job.

2u on Patrick Cantlay Top 5 Finish at 4/1. Patrick is one of those weird golfers where I can look at a tournament and say “he’ll do well”. However I never have the confidence to actually back him. That’s the case here. I don’t think he’ll win but he will be in contention. I made this same bet in the Tournament of Champions and happy to back him again here.

2u on Tony Finau Top 5 Finish at 11/2. Similar feelings with Cantlay. I just don’t feel confident backing Tony to win a tournament but I do think he can be in contention.

I’ve now got 1u bets on the following golfers – all are to win and top 5. Meaning split your unit.

Sergio Garcia at 55/1. I love the odds on Garcia and that jumped out at me. He seems to run hot and cold here. He’s playing well. Worth a bet.

Jim Furyk at 150/1. I mean it’s hard to bet Furyk but he does stand out in the metrics here. Course/current form not really worth it but last years winner was a shocker so why not.

Phil Mickelson at 40/1. It’s hard to back Phil however he seems to be rolling right now and has won here previously. With Tiger out there that may spur him on even more.

Marc Leishman at 40/1. Excellent course form, last time out at the Insurance Open he won. Wouldn’t surprise me if he contends again and solid odds on him.
