Welcome to this weeks golf tips.

The Scottish Open is the more prestigious tournament of the week but alas I will not be tipping it.

I spent awhile analyzing the course and I just can’t fully determine what metrics will work out here best. I prefer to have SOME sort of statistical backing when it comes to advising golf tips and I don’t feel comfortable doing that on this course.

However I am covering the John Deere event as well as the LPGA.

Before I get any further I hope many of you follow me over at Golf Betting Tips. I usually post the tips here but there are exceptions such as last week – I had a lot of personal shit going on and I just didn’t have the time for long write-ups or to post it twice.

I ended up having two great top 5 cashes last week with an 80/1 and a 50/1.

Here’s the betting slips for both of those:

So remember to follow me over there too just so you can always get the tips.

Alright let’s get on with this week and we’ll start with the John Deere Classic.

This is an intriguing tournament. The course is one of those that I believe it takes experience at. You see certain golfers start to appreciate this course more over the years and get better at it. So with that in mind I have decided not to take any of the newly turned pros. Metric wise, Morikawa is right up there but I just can’t back him.

I’ve got four plays in the John Deere Classic. All just small plays like the minimal unit possible and all are to win and top 5.

First one is Troy Merritt at +6600. He’s not someone I love to back but I feel obligated. The metrics work out very well for him and although he comes in with bad current form and very average course form, the numbers dictate a play here. He is very inconsistent however I feel I’ve got to bet him.

Speaking of inconsistent, Vaughn Taylor at +6600 is another one I am backing. He’s actually got decent form at the moment, marks up well for this course and has played well here. His putting is great and that should help on this course.

I’m also backing Zach Johnson at +2800. Not about the metrics or the current form but with his course form I feel an obligation to bet on him here.

My final John Deere Classic bet is Cameron Tringale also at +6600. As I ran the various metrics he just kept showing up on the list and I’ve got to go with him here.

In the LPGA Marathon Classic I really like So Yeon Ryu however she’s not a good price at 8/1 I think it would be marginal at 12/1.

I’m going with two small bets. One is on Mirim Lee at +3300 to win and top 5. She plays well here and is in good form. My other one is a speculative one on Daniela Darquea at +17500 to win and top 5. She just seems like someone who performs well on specific courses and is worth a wee shot.
