Grand Slam of Darts 2013 Day One Premium Picks.
The Grand Slam of Darts 2013 starts today, and it’s a huge field, with a host of PDC stars, along with a few BDO names. This is the one tournament where you’re going to see the BDO boys take on the PDC boys, and you’re also going to see some faces you might not get to see in the rest of the PDC majors, thanks to the youngsters being given a place in the field. It’s also worth noting that Barry Hearn has suggested that the GSoD will become a ranking event soon, which might mean we’re not going to see the BDO boys involved, or there might be some kind of change. For me, it’s a great tournament that doesn’t need to change. The BDO boys seems to love playing, the PDC boys love and, the fans love it, so why change it?
Anyway, we’re got 8 groups of 4, with the best of 2012 and 2013s tournaments taking to the field, along with four wildcards who qualified this week. I say wildcards, but Justin Pipe, Vincent van der Voort, Peter Wright and Stuart Kellett are far from wildcards – we know what each man is capable of.
