Well we almost had a win in the Kilmarnock vs Rangers game today. We had Kilmarnock or Draw and that one was 1-1 going into injury time when Connor Goldson scored.
Disappointed the bet lost, but happy for the mighty Glasgow Rangers. Honestly it was a deserved win for Rangers there. Has to be said. Not as impressive as the Celtic result yesterday of course but I’ll take it. Was always going to be a tricky tie.
Caught the tail end of the Aberdeen vs Hearts game and what a banger that was. Tuned in at 1-1 with 20 minutes left.
Quick heads up that I’m off to Toronto next weekend for WWE Summerslam weekend. You’ll be able to follow my betting tips for that over at Bet WWE. Based on my plans there I don’t think I’ll take a day off but you never know.
What that does mean however is I’ll probably overload on this upcoming weekends games a bit earlier in the week, just in case.
Thought I’d focus on just the one game for Monday which is Huddersfield vs Derby. Always fun dissecting a game – although much prefer having stats to back it up but we’ll do what we can.
Huddersfield vs Derby Betting Tips:
A hell of a game to end Week 1 of the English Championship.
Huddersfield were relegated last season from the English Premier League. they are not expected to bounce back up at the first time of asking according to the bookies and are around 14/1. Same price as Derby, who missed out on the Premiership last season in the playoffs. Of course Derby will be missing Frank Lampard but have Phillip Cocu in now.
Huddersfield go into this home tie as 2.15 favourites. It’s not expected that Steve Mounie will be playing which is a loss for them.
It’s a good game for both teams to guage where they are at. I think we’ll see a high scoring game. Both teams are coming into this with something to prove and you just know Karlan Grant is going to get one in the net at least.
Huddersfield have looked solid in pre season and a lot of the players here have already played under Siewert so there will be no need to get settled etc – he knows what to expect.
Derby with their new manager will be out to prove. However you feel like the first few games are going to be working things out. Cocu likes to play attractive football from what I’ve seen but that can always take time to adjust.
I think this will be a good battle and a high scoring game. I’m tempted by the Over 2.5 goals or even over 3.5 goals but with a new manager during the off-season you never know how they will adjust. Also losing Frank Lampard really was a big mental blow for Derby I feel.
I’m going to take Huddersfield to get the win here.
