Happy Wednesday everybody!
It’s been two days without the NFL – well one and a bit – and already I’m pining for it. It wasn’t the best start to it betting wise for me but I managed to make some money at Draftkings and more importantly just had some goddamn fun watching football.
It’s amazing to think I used to survive Sundays without football. Or waking up to soccer THEN watching football all day long. And to think soon we’ll have NHL and NBA. Amazing times.
Alright so it’s Wednesday. The PGA is off for a break this week but we’re still going toe be covering golf with a look at the Italian Open on the European Tour. We’ll also be looking at the LPGA and the CFL.
Let’s get to it:
Italian Open Betting Picks:
I’ve got two half unit bets this week on the Italian Open. The first is Matthew Fitzpatrick to win and E/W. He performed well at this course last year and he’s coming in with some nice form going for him.
I’m also betting a half unit on Francesco Molinari for a finish in the Top 20. He’s usually a contender at the Italian Open and plays strong. I can’t see him really cracking the top 10 or challenging for the win though so I feel good with the Top 20 bet where he is 11/10 to do that.
I’m also placing some quarter unit bets on 5 golfers who finished in the Top 5 last year. My theory behind this is this might be a course where course form is important but we don’t know either way yet due to just one tournament being held there. So hey why not right?
The golfers who finished in the Top 5 last year that I am betting are Rikard Karlberg, Lucas Bjerregaard, Joakim Lagergren, David Lipsky and finally Fabrizio Zanotti.
That’s it for the Italian Open. Let’s get onto CFL and LPGA:
Evian Championship Betting Picks:
Haven’t bet much on the LPGA this season as I feel there haven’t been too many betting opportunities. However I do like Mi Hyang Lee who has performed well here before and I think she can do so again. Her issue is consistency – or a lack of it to be honest – and I’m hoping she can keep it going here. Quarter unit to win & E/W on Lee.
CFL Week 13 Betting Picks:
4 games this week in the CFL and I’m backing 3 favourites and 1 underdog.
First one is Tiger-Cats -9.5. Montreal seem like an absolute mess at the moment. Their team is all over the place and this is a big one for Hamilton. It’s getting to that point where every game is crucial and so they’ve got a lot to prove here.
I’m also on Blue Bombers -6.5. I just think the Winnipeg defense will really stifle the Argos.
I’m also on Eskimos -4.5. Hopefully they aren’t too demoralized after the Stampeders games and give Sask a nice whooping.
Finally I’m on Redblacks +9. I just think coming off the Stampeders-Eskimos games that Calgary will be a bit tired. Two massive victorys sometimes it can be hard to follow that up and I like the Redblacks to treat this as a big game and keep it close at least with every point counting.
