Big, big weekend in the NFL. We kickstart it at 4:35pm EST with the Baltimore Ravens taking on the New England Patriots. Then after that game is over, the Panthers visit Seattle to take on the Seahawks.
Tomorrow will be the Cowboys vs Packers, and the Colts vs Broncos.
Let’s analyze and predict both divisional playoff games that take place today:
Baltimore Ravens vs New England Patriots Betting Tips:
The battle between Flacco and Brady – both of whom have recieved their fair share of hype this season.
Brady was done and dusted as of week 4 in the NFL. Remember that? All the talk was that Brady was done – then he came back and just had his usual ridiculous season. And then all we’ve heard this past week is about how damn good Flacco is.
The Patriots go into this game as 7 point favourites. The bookies aren’t expecting a shootout, with the Over/Under being 47.5.
Patriots are nice and rested, while Ravens have momentum on their side. Honestly the state of both teams – that is probably for the best for both of them.
We have to go with the Ravens +7.
Ravens have a great record against the New England Patriots and Bill Belechick. And while Belechick is a genius, sometimes he can really overthink things. Look at the Patriots running back situation at the moment for example. That’s where a lot of questions have to come into play – I mean all week while we were doing our fantasy drafts for daily fantasy sports, that was one we were puzzling over and had to avoid.
Patriots we would say are the better team – but the Ravens are a tough matchup for the Patriots. Getting a full 7 points, a whole touchdown, in a game that is really so freaking close – it’s something where we just HAVE to take the points here. We think – and honestly hope – that the Patriots do the business, but the mathematically correct decision is to bet the Ravens.
Panthers vs Seahawks Betting Tips:
The big talk this weekend going into this game is the Seahawks defense. That’s why we’ve got a very low Over/Under of 40 points. The Seahawks here are just MASSIVE favourites of 11.5 points.
Damn that’s a lot of points.
The Panthers defense is something we can’t ignore either – however this is still a team that are 7-8-1 going into the post season. They were solid against the Cardinals but Arizona did have Lindley in, and the Cards offense just didn’t look like they even had a gameplan.
The point spread is too tricky here – it’s possible the Seahawks completely lock the Panthers out. Last season, the strong Seahawks defense beat the Saints 23-15 in the Divisional Playoffs, and 23-17 over the 49ers in the Championships. Both times, going up against a stronger offense than what the Panthers bring to the game.
It’s not a lock by any means – but the best bet here is Under 40 points.
