Last night we saw another rematch between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors. It was a highly anticipated match-up, but the Warriors through pretty much all of that out the window as they routed the Cavaliers 126-91. It’s hard to take too much from that win though as the Cavaliers have been beat up this season and have put a lot of minutes on Lebron James. That’s not an excuse, but it simply won’t be like that when these two teams meet in the Finals again this year. That will be a much different Cavs team and the Warriors won’t quite score so easily. Unfortunately, we have to wait to June for that possible match-up.
Tonight there is no great game like that in the NBA, but there are some very intriguing betting options in the pros. On the college side, we have some great conference match-ups as well.
NCAA Basketball Betting Tips:
NC State hosts Pittsburgh tonight and that is a school that they have absolutely owned in recent match-ups. They are 3-0 over their last three meetings against the spread and look to continue that run tonight. These two teams have the exact same record, but NC State is scoring more points and winning their games by a larger margin. NC State -3.5 will make it four in a row tonight.
In conference action on ESPN, Wisconsin hosts Michigan and they are a big favorite in this one. It’s hard not to see why as Wisconsin is consistently one of the best teams in the country and are winning by an average of 16.6 points per game. While Michigan has played well this year, their against the spread record is embarrassing at 4-11. That tells me they are simply not at that same level as the Badgers and Wisconsin -10 will take this one.
Finally, we have Kentucky at Mississippi State and Kentucky is just going to roll like they roll over everyone. They are scoring at a huge pace this year, 93.6 per game, and it’s hard for anyone to compete with that especially a non-major school like Mississippi State. Kentucky -13
NBA Betting Tips:
The Bulls have had a really tough schedule lately and are on their third game in four nights tonight. Luckily for them, they play the Dallas Mavericks who have been one of the worst teams in the league this season. That said, Dallas always plays hard and the rest could be a factor for Chicago. I think the Bulls win this one, but it could be closer than the spread. Take the points, Dallas +5.5.
On the flip side, it’s hard to think of any reason to bet the Miami Heat over the Houston Rockets tonight. The Heat have really struggled this year and the Rockets are currently clicking on all cylinders. They score in way that the Heat can’t possibly hope to keep up with as they simply don’t have the weapons. James Harden is unstoppable and he is the MVP. Rockets -8 all day.
