A nice 3-1 record to end the year last night. Always good to end a year on a high note like that.

My new year’s resolution this year is the same as it always is: win more money betting on sports! No better way to do that than starting off strong with a great day today.

We have the Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl going down today, two of the biggest bowls of the season. Washington and Ohio State do battle in the Rose Bowl and I think both teams could have an argument of being in the playoffs over Notre Dame. Heck, the same can be said about Georgia in the Sugar Bowl. Not that the results would’ve been much different, but it’s easy to imagine these teams feeling slighted and wanting to prove something today.

Rose Bowl Betting Tips:

This will be the last game of the Urban Meyer era in Ohio State and it’s hard not to see him taking the win on his way out. While this has been a very rough OSU defense at times this season, the offense has been outstanding. Dwayne Haskins tore up Michigan’s highly lauded defense earlier this season and it’s hard not to see him doing it to this Washington defense. While there are All-American cornerbacks on the other side, Haskins has a way of spreading the offense and finding the right man.

Washington’s offense has been pretty pedestrian this year and aren’t quite what you’d expect from a Rose Bowl team. A good team to be sure, but I think Ohio State will be able to get a lead and keep it. Their coach will go out on a happy note.

Bet Ohio State -6.5

Sugar Bowl Betting Tips:

The line on this one is a bit higher, but I think this has the chance to be the more competitive game. These are two run heavy offenses that will be looking to control the clock and the gameplay. Texas has impressed this year and Tom Herman as a coach is 12-3 against the spread as an underdog in his coaching career. With his team getting major points here, I can see that continuing.

Bet Texas +11.5

NBA Betting Tips:

My favorite play of the day is the Bucks -10.5 against the Pistons today. This team has been absolutely fantastic this season and they beat the Pistons at home by 23 earlier this season. That result is definitely indicative of the talent gap between these two teams and I fully expect Giannis and the gang to dominate this one. The Pistons did beat Milwaukee in Detroit recently, but there is a big difference between a road game and the very loud, sold out Fiserv Forum.

Another interesting game is the Jazz taking on the Raptors. Toronto is still without Kyle Lowry and Utah has been playing some really inspired basketball as of late. I am just not fully sure I trust the home/road split here as Toronto is typically one of the most dangerous home teams in the league and Kawhi Leonard will be active for this one.
