I liked the Clips, but then switched the Spurs at the last minute. It’s a mortal lock whenever you do that last minute switch that your initial thought is correct. The Clips really sold out for this win as Avery Bradley, Tobias Harris, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and Patrick Beverley all played over 38 minutes in this game. Based on his line for this game, I think DeMar DeRozan might’ve been better off not playing through his injury as he finished with 8 points, going 4-for-16 from the field.
Today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day and the NBA really goes all out to celebrate this holiday with 11 games. A lot of teams are playing early games today in celebration as a lot of people are off of work today. There’s a lot to get to, so let’s dig in.
Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Chicago Bulls: I have looked at this line every which way and I can’t understand why the Bulls are a -2 favorite on the road. That said, these two teams are a combined 1-19 over their past ten games. With the Bulls having lost ten straight. Why they think the Bulls end that streak here, I don’t know. I like the Cavs, but it’s just hard to bet on teams with records like this.
Memphis Grizzlies vs. New Orleans Pelicans: The Grizz have lost five straight, but they are favored here against the Pelicans. Why? No Anthony Davis. Grizz -3.5 looks good considering that fact, but this team has just been awful of late and I’m not sure it’s worth it.
Sacramento Kings vs. Brooklyn Nets Betting Tips:
These are two of the more surprising teams in the NBA thus far this season and this is a really nice match-up. Both teams are coming in hot, having won four of their past five games. This could be one of the most fun games of the day.
I really like the Nets to protect their home court here. D’Angelo Russell is really having a breakout season and the match-up between him and De’Aaron Fox should be. The thing I like about Brooklyn is their depth as even with their injuries, they’ve continued to play their brand of basketball. This is a big home game for them and the crowd is starting to get behind this team. This line is a bit low of where I think it should be as this is a really early game for the Kings who are a California team playing a 12:30 Pacific time game.

Miami Heat vs. Boston Celtics Betting Tips:
For whatever reason, the Heat always give Boston trouble. Over the last three seasons, Boston is 7-7 against Miami. That doesn’t sound too bad, but when you consider that Boston has been one of the best teams in the league over that span while the Heat have been fringe playoff contenders that’s been pretty huge. Earlier this month, Boston did not show up for a game in Miami and lost 115-99.
To me, this line is just too high. Miami is 13-7 against the spread as an underdog and 13-8 ATS in road games. Taking away that blowout win last time out, the last five games between these teams has been decided by six or less. Eight is a ton in this league and I’m taking the points here.
