Welcome to the free sports betting tips for Monday, January 30th, 2017.
Without the NFL this weekend, my attention was firmly on the FA Cup, and what a weekend it was! Leicester laboured to a draw at Derby County, then Liverpool continued their woeful run at home, losing to Wolves, and then things got even better, as Lincoln City coasted into the last 16, beating Brighton, Oxford done a number on Newcastle, and then finally Sutton got past Leeds United 1-0 on Sunday, in a cup weekend full of shocks. Yes, we still have the big guns of Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs in the mix, but it’s great to see some new names there and some unexpected name, to be honest. The draw has been kind, in a way, to the non-league clubs, with Lincoln getting an away tie at Burnley, while Sutton are hosting Arsenal. Sure, Sutton would have preferred the game to be at the Emirates, but they’ll still take the glamour tie, none the less. Yes, there were a lot of weakened sides fielding and it might have tarnished the FA Cup weekend a bit, but I love seeing the underdogs win, so I’m not going to complain. Plus, I think Lawro copped a few correct scores in his predictions, which I love!
Now, let’s get onto the free sports betting tips for January 30th, 2017.
NBA Betting Tips
My main selection in the NBA tonight is in the Orlando vs Minnesota game. It might not be the headline game of the night, but when it comes to a betting proposition, it really sticks out to me. The selection is Orlando +9. Why? Well, first of all, both sides are amazingly inconsistent. Sure, the T’Wolves have been going well of late, but there’s no depth to the team, and at least the Magic have some depth on their bench. Plus, the Magic had a big win in Toronto last night, which is going to get their heads higher than before. Vucevic has found a bit of form, and if he can bring it tonight, I can see it being relatively close. For me, the Magic should keep this close, and 9 points looks like a gift from the gods.
The second and final selection tonight is Brooklyn +9. While I can’t see the Heat losing here, the one thing that jumps out at me is the fact the Heat aren’t the highest scorers in the league, and the Nets actually have a higher PPG than them. Brooklyn are usually good for a three-figure score, and that should be good enough to at least keep it close between the two sides. When they met in Brooklyn on the 25th of January, Miami won by three, and that seems about right to me, maybe a few points more, but 9 points just looks like a stretch too far for Miami right now.
