An 0-1 record last night.

We missed big last night as we went with the Hornets at home against the Mavericks. This was the Mavs first road win since November 28th and just their third of the season. I should’ve maybe monitored the injury situation a bit better here as no Cody Zeller and Jeremy Lamb for Charlotte, but this one was still just ridiculous. It was 42-26 after the first quarter and that was about it. Weirdly, it was 16-12 Hornets after five minutes of this game. Just a weird game and absolute beating. The Mavs shot well and that’s all it took.

Honestly, I should’ve went with the Heat. Dion Waters made his return, scoring seven points, and seven Heat players scored in double figures. The Heat absolutely dominated the boards and won 117-92.

Two huge games on national television tonight with a ton of intrigue. Let’s check them out and see what we have.

Toronto Raptors vs. San Antonio Spurs Betting Tips:

This is a big one as it is Kawhi Leonard’s first game in San Antonio since this offseason’s trade. It’s also DeMar DeRozan’s first time against his former team. The end of Kawhi in San Antonio wasn’t pretty so you have to imagine that the crowd is going to be pretty hot for this one.

It doesn’t always show up, but I feel like there is something going on with the Raptors right now. Scratch that. I know what’s going on with them right now: injuries. The lack of Jonas Valanciunas really hurts when playing teams with a strong front court and that could definitely be the case here as well. Kyle Lowry is still out and Norman Powell is listed as questionable here. This is still one of the top teams in the league, but they have dropped four of their past six on the road and this place should be rocking for the Spurs.

Meanwhile, the Spurs have been hot. They’ve won six of eight with the only two losses being to Denver (first in the West, also a second consecutive game between the two teams) and Houston, who are red hot right now with James Harden. I really like their home court advantage here and I feel like if anyone is going to take this game personally, it’s DeRozan. Throw in LaMarcus Aldridge having a nice match-up and the Spurs look good here.

Golden State Warriors vs. Houston Rockets:

This is such a tough game to choose. The Warriors should destroy the Rockets without Chris Paul. When they are on their best game, they can’t be beat. Klay Thomson and Stephen Curry can bury a three from anywhere and they have some nice defensive match-ups here. Kevin Durant is the most guardable player in NBA history. They should beat them like they should beat everyone in this league. They just… don’t.

Call it lack of motivation, call it what you will, this team is just kind of disappointing. This team didn’t have their 13th loss til February last season. They head into this game at 13. I just don’t know what to think about them. As a home favorite of -6.5 to -12 points, they are just 4-10 on the year.

I was all set to take the Rockets +8.5 here. Harden is averaging 40 points per game over his last ten games and this team is 10-1 over their past eleven games. Unfortunately, James Ennis is listed as questionable for this one and Eric Gordon is listed as out. There is doing it yourself and then there’s this. I don’t want to bet against Harden here, but I can’t bet on him either.
