There are some great games and strong betting opportunities out there tonight in the world of basketball, but all eyes should be on the national TV game between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets. This is a potential playoff series this year, but more than that it is a showcase of two players who are putting up absolutely insane stats this season in James Harden and Russell Westbrook.
It’s been a long time since these two were teammates, but they always seem to bring it against one another and their games are always competitive. We’re expecting nothing less tonight in a great night of basketball action. Let’s take a look at what else we have.
NBA Betting Tips:
While tonight’s Dallas and Phoenix game is not a game that you want to necessarily go out of your way to watch, these are two of the worst teams in the NBA right now, it is one you probably want to make sure you put a bet on. Dallas has been playing much better as of late and they are home for this one. On top of that, Phoenix is playing their third game in four nights which is always tough in this league. Dallas -5 is our pick of the night.
An even more extreme mismatch on the “three games in four nights” rule is tonight’s Spurs and Nuggets game. Denver has been putting up huge points lately, but it has often not been enough. They will be the tired team in tonight’s game and have the unfortunate task of trying to score points like that against the Spurs. I’d be on this game without the rest issues, but with them the Spurs -9 are one of the best plays of the night.
The game of the night, by far, is the match-up between the Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder. Russell Westbrook and James Harden are not only former teammates, but they are the two front runners for the MVP this year and should be playing a game of one-up against each other all night on national TV. These two teams have played twice already this season and both games were decided by three or less. Unfortunately, the Thunder on their (you guessed it) third road game in four nights and will be tired for this one. That said though, they lost both of those first two games and this is national TV so I’m expecting a good showing from them. While I hate to do it, this line just feels too high. Rockets for the win, Thunder +8.5 for the cover.
NCAA Basketball Betting Tips:
A fun Big Ten match-up goes down tonight as Minnesota takes on Northwestern. Both of these teams have gotten off to strong starts and are looking to make their mark in the Big Ten this year. Despite seeming relatively close, Northwestern has absolutely owned Minnesota over the past several games. Northwestern -3.5 is a 3.5 favorite, but it could honestly be much larger as they won by match-ups by 23+ last season. While Minnesota has improved, I still don’t see them on the Wildcats level.
