An 0-2 record last night.

It was a good night for those of you who like to fade me, but that Sixers/Mavericks game has to be my frustrating loss of the season. The 76ers were favored by -7 and they absolutely destroyed this team throughout most of the game. At the end of three quarters it was 87-70 and we appeared to be cruising to victory. The Mavs then had a huge fourth quarter that got them close, but never really in threatening distance. However, the final score was 106-100. I blame Mike Muscala who was -11 in fifteen minutes.

The other tip of the night was the Bucks over the Raptors. The Bucks were at home in front of a raucous crowd and Giannis Antetokounmpo went off for a 43-point, 18 rebound game. Didn’t matter. The Raptors outplayed them, Pascal Siakam scored thirty and the Raps won. One thing I failed to consider in the preview was that the Bucks won the first two meetings of this series. It’s pretty rare that the #1/#2 seed match-ups are dominated by one team. The Raps really went for this as their five starters combined for all but five of the points scored.

Typical Sunday slate today with the Raptors back in action against the Pacers. Let’s take a look at the games.

Indiana Pacers vs. Toronto Raptors: Raptors are on a back-to-back, starters played heavy minutes yesterday, most likely without Kawhi Leonard, and playing a tough team. I really like the Pacers here, just can’t bring myself to go against Toronto at home.

Orlando Magic vs. Los Angeles Clippers: This line looked weird to me, then I remembered this is a 1:30 game in Los Angeles. Did Orlando partake in the nightlife last night? The sportsbooks sure seem to think so.

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Minnesota Timberwolves: Please come back LeBron James. I miss betting on the Lakers.

Washington Wizards vs. Oklahoma City Thunder Betting Tips:

The home/road stats that I track show that this should be a blowout for the Thunder. The Wizards are 2-12 (3-11 against the spread) as a road underdog this season. While the Thunder are 12-4 (9-7 against the spread) as a home favorite. One of these teams is really good and the other is not.

OKC is on a nice little run right now too. They’ve won three in a row and four of their past five games. Paul George is having a fantastic season, he’s seventh in the NBA in points per game at 27 per game. He’s really picked it up of late when Russell Westbrook has struggled as over his past fifteen games he is averaging 31.5 points per game. The defense of the Thunder ranks first in the NBA at 101.8.

In that same category, ranking 27th at 113.4 is the Washington Wizards. The loss of John Wall hurt, but they’ve been mostly the same without him. The problem is the “same” is a non-playoff team with no real hopes of improving.

I think this should be an easy win for the Thunder at home and the -10 seems reasonable. I’ve seen -12 to -15 projected and I have no fear laying the big points here.
