Hey look at that – I’m making it for tips two days in a row!
Let’s hope it continues.
Unfortunately I’ve picked the worst time of the year to really get going. As there isn’t a lot of football on the go.
However Monday, January 7th does have some action so let’s get to the daily soccer betting tips with some good old stats based picks – my favourite kind of all.
Celta Vigo vs Athletic Bilboa Betting Tips:
Getting a nice price on Celta Vigo here.
While the two teams are only separated by a few points in the league, there is a big home/away discrepancy that I think should really factor in here.
The only real positive for Athletic Bilboa is that they have performed much better on defense lately. That was one major issue for them and they have managed to get two clean sheets in their last 3 games plus that impressive win over Girona.
Despite their burst in form, you can usually bank in Celta Vigo at home. While they are a defensive mess when you look at the stats, they are much more solid at home.
I dived into Celta Vigas home data a fair bit and I just think they can perform here. Their offense is much better than Bilboa too.

Tondela vs Sporting CP Betting Tips:
This one is in the Portugese Primeira Liga. Sporting CP are 5 points behind the incredibly in form FC Porto while Tondela are 5th bottom of the league.
Sporting CP have been let down by their away form despite the fact that they have the best offense in the league. They just can’t seem to be consistent on the road. They got a couple of wins over Rio Ave and Santa Clara which was impressive but went back to losing against Guimaraes.
The important thing to take away from those is that they won 2-1 and 3-1 so they conceded goals and while I think they will win today, I do think Tondela will get a goal.
They have been pretty solid with a goal a game at home and Sporting CP concede 1.43 on the road.
It’s possible Sporting CP slip up as well and we see a 1-1 draw or something. Wouldn’t surprise me. So we’ll go with a more even game and a safer bet.

Call me a sadist but in the same league I don’t hate Nacional or Draw as well. There’s just something about that game where I smell an upset. FC Porto are a lethal team however and should probably knock them all the way to hell but if you are looking for an “easy” team to add to a double or treble I’d look elsewhere.
