The LPGA is back, and it takes place at the Wildfire Golf Club with the JTBC Founders Cup.
This event has been held in the LPGA since 2011, and takes place in Phoenix, Arizona. Previous winners of this event are Karrie Webb(twice), Stacy Lewis and Yani Tseng. It’s usually a very tight event in terms of the scoring, and it’s going to be interesting to see how Lydia Ko handles this course. She is going into this one as the favourite.
The very first time this event was created, no-one actually won any money. Instead, there was donations to the winners and the top 10 finishers charities. A unique and pretty cool idea. However it’s now a 4 day event, fairly gruelling, and thankfully the ladies get paid.

Lydia Ko is the heavy favourite as per usual.
JTBC Founders Cup Betting Tip #1: Stacy Lewis
The first bet we will be placing on the JTBC Founders Cup is on Stacy Lewis.
The American has a good history at this course. Not only did she win it two years ago, but she also picked up 2nd place last year. The first two years in this tournament she was a bit disappointing it has to be said – but her performances were a lot more solid the last two years.
She also really revelled in the 4 days. Those sort of tournaments are usually made for her. It’s going to be interesting to see how Ko does here – but we couldn’t be surprised to really see her struggle.
JTBC Founders Cup Betting Tip #2: Karrie Webb
Twice winner, we have to place a bet on Webb at that price. 28/1 is huge and when we bet it E/W for a Top 5 finish we’re making a clear value bet. Webb hasn’t had the greatest year yet – but the Australian did manage to get a tied for 11th finish at the LPGA Thailand event.
Webb has played here every year. Her form probably isn’t enough for her to win it, but we like to think she will be amongst the top finishers at the end of the tournament.
JTBC FOUNDERS CUP RESULTS & ANALYSIS:
Boy it was good to be tipping the LPGA again.
We didn’t win anything – but man it was close, and there’s just something about the LPGA and betting it that I really enjoy. I love watching it as it’s such a diverse field.
Boy did we almost come close though. We stayed away from heavy favourite Lydia Ko and that was the smart move. She played well but only came in 6th place.
We tipped Stacy Lewis to win and should have had that! She had a poor 71 day on round 2 which cost us. If she didn’t have that she would have won we’re sure. Unfortunately she had to settle for second place as Hyo-Joo Kim took the win.
Karrie Webb started off great with a 67 on day 1 and was up amongst the top 10 but couldn’t keep the form going.
