A 1-1 record on Friday. No tips last night.
A couple of afternoon games today. Let’s get to them.
San Francisco Giants vs. St. Louis Cardinals Betting Tips:
The Giants aren’t normally a team that we go with around here, but they are playing some of their best baseball of the season right now. They are 6-4 over their past ten and the offense has really been hitting the ball well. The bullpen has been solid all season and I’m willing to take a chance on Jeff Samardzija here. Cumulatively his stats don’t look that bad, 4.32 ERA/4.53 FIP, but he’s had some ugly 5-run starts in there. I’m willing to go with him though because the Cards offense isn’t all that great against righties, this is a pitchers park, and the Cards offense is cold right now with a 74 wRC+ over the last two weeks.
The Cards send Jack Flaherty who is having a decent season with a 4.90 ERA/4.80 FIP. His road starts have been his undoing though as he has a 6.81 ERA/5.39 FIP away from St. Louis. The walks and homers have bee a big issue away from home, and the way the Giants are hitting right now makes this a great underdog play.

Oakland Athletics vs. Seattle Mariners Betting Tips:
The Mariners are going opener here with Matt Carasiti opening and then Wade Leblanc backing him up. That’s what we are looking to target here as the Athletics are one of the best teams in baseball against left handed pitching. They have a 122 wRC+ against left handers and if they face Leblanc and his 5.02 ERA/5.19 FIP, I see good things happening.
Daniel Mengden goes for the As and he’s fine. He has a 4.67 ERA/4.04 FIP on the year with homeruns being a problem. That gives me a little pause here, but the Mariners bullpen erases all of that. I think the Athletics can win big here.
