We have a full slate of games today with some early games as it is a travel day for many teams. As always, we’ll be skipping those for the most part and heading to the night games. The system likes a one of these games tonight so let’s get to that.
Atlanta Braves vs. Chicago Cubs Betting Tips:
I don’t really feel comfortable with Dallas Keuchel right now. This guy was messed around in the offseason thanks to some silly salary cup rules and didn’t sign with a team til about a month ago. He did his best in his time off to keep himself fresh and after signing he only made two minor league starts and his first start for the Braves last week.
He looked decent considering what he went through, but 8 hits and a homerun allowed over five innings is nothing to get excited about. His strikeouts were low and I really feel like he could’ve used some more seasoning down there and I really don’t like this match-up against the Cubs for him. Throw in the shaky Braves bullpen and I think we see some runs today.
I see them coming from both sides with Yu Darvish on the mound for Chicago. He has a 4.75 ERA/5.18 FIP on the season and homeruns have been an issue. He’s allowed five homeruns and nine runs over his last three starts, and I just don’t trust him.
The system has been low on the overs this year, but this is one that I am all over.
