Things are getting interesting in the National League Central. The Cubs just called up Craig Kimbrel which should really help them out. The Cubs have a +61 run differential, the best in the division, but they hold just a one game lead over the Brewers and 2.5 game lead over the Cardinals.
Milwaukee has really been struggling of late as their pitching hasn’t been as dominant while many of their key hitters have struggled. The questionable demotion of Keston Hiura is really haunting this team right now.
The Cardinals have been lingering all season, but the team with the second best run differential in the division is actually the Reds. They are +40 in run differential, but have just a 36-42 on the year. I’m not sure if they have a run in them to get in the mix which is a shame because that team has really done a lot to rebuild themselves over the past couple of seasons and to see them get the results, but not the wins is a shame.
The Cubs look like the favorite right now, but Milwaukee can easily get back in there if certain players start playing to their projections. It should be an exciting end to the season.
MLB Betting Tips:
Not a lot that the Bet MLB System likes today. Just the one game.
Arizona Diamondbacks at San Francisco Giants: We don’t have a ton of data on the Diamondbacks starter Alex Young. He’s had a high ERA, but great strikeout numbers and his FIP shows he’s been a bit unlucky. What I do have data on though is the Giants offense against lefties and they have been absolutely terrible. They have just a 64 wRC+ against lefties this year and despite the unknown, I’m feeling good about the Diamondbacks here.
The Giants send Tyler Beede who is having a really tough year. He has a 6.96 ERA/5.78 FIP and I don’t trust him at all. The Diamondbacks are an okay team, the Giants are a bad one. Between the pitcher handedness and the bullpen of San Fran, I’m all over the Diamondbacks here.
CFL Betting Tips:
Edmonton Eskimos at Winnipeg Blue Bombers: The Eskimos take their undefeated record to Winnipeg where Chris Matthews will make his season debut for the Bombers. The Eksimos offensively have been off the charts thus far and the Bombers defense really has their job cut out for them. The Bombers are coming off a bye and their defense is being highly touted here, but I’m not buying it. The Esks are atop all of the offensive categories for a reason.
WNBA Betting Tips:
Las Vegas Aces at Los Angeles Sparks: The Ace are in the midst of a poor run right now, but they draw a favorable match-up on the road here against the Sparks. These two teams played on opening night and the Aces beat the Sparks 83-70. Despite the recent run of the Aces, I have to go with them here. The Sparks are 0-4 ATS in the past four games and they just look like the worse team. The Aces should get things done on the road here.
