Well, another tournament is upon us and it’s one of the more “novelty” darts tournaments. The PDC takes the circus to Las Vegas for the week. We’ll try and pick out the value in the outright betting just now, before we focus on the match betting for the rest of the week. So, without further ado, here are our picks for the outright tournament winner:
Simon Whitlock – 40-1 @ Ladbrokes. A very fair price for the man who’s just joined the PDC ranks. He’s taking all the tournaments apart in Australia, had good results in qualifying for this event and had a good run in the Players’ Championship event last night, so we know he’s playing good darts. He has a good draw and isn’t scheduled to meet Phil Taylor until the semi-finals. His first round match might be his trickiest, but we feel he’s good enough to get past Terry Jekins and go on a good run.
Mark Walsh – 25/1 @ Blue Square. The form darts player of the year, having racked up 3 floor titles, two in the last two weeks. He’s in the opposite side of the draw to Taylor, which is a bonus and seems to have a draw which could have been a lot worse.
Recommend both bets @ .5 unit e/w.
We’ll be back shortly with the first of our picks for the tournament match betting.
