Goddamnit – spent a good 45 minutes yesterday studying the Burundi Premier League, only for all the games to be postponed.
And here I thought “nah they won’t cancel these I should be good”.
Oh well.
Oh well. Let’s move onto Saturday as I see we have games taking place in two different countries.
We have four games taking place in the Vysshaya Liga in Belarus, and also three games taking place in the Liga Primera – Clausura in Nicaragua.
Alas the Belarus League is only one game deep at this point so we will focus on Nicaragua. I DID have a winning week in that last time out so let’s get to it.
Oh there is also football in the country of Turkmenistan which I legitimately did not know was even a country until right now. What can I say I failed geography in high school every year. Anyway got reading about it and it’s a pretty crazy place.
Turkmenistan has some features that would doubtless be tourist attractions if it were more open. This is the “Gateway to Hell,” a crater that has been on fire for more than 40 years in the desert.

Battle of the basement dwellers here. After 11 games, Real Madriz are on 10 points nad Ocotal are on 9. Only Deportivo Sabanas are worse, with just 6 points.
Both teams pretty tied together in terms of offensive and defensive statistcs.
If we look at team strength against the worst team in the league, Ocotal drew with them 0-0 away while Madriz thumped them 4-1 at home.
These two teams played previously and Real Madriz got a 1-0 win over them away.
I’ve got to take Real Madriz here. They’re at home where they perform better. It’s going to be a tight one and I could easily see a draw but Ocotal are brutal away and their away stats stand out to me in terms of how poor they are doing.

And uh I think that’s it for me. The other game is Managua FC vs Dirangen but both teams are really good and not much to separate the sides. I do think Managua FC can win but Dirangen have only conceded a whopping 4 goals in 11 games which is ridiculous. I might risk the draw on that one myself actually.
