Last night in the NBA was a night of blowouts. The Wizards destroyed the Pistons, the Rockets annihilated the Grizzlies, the Thunder rocked the Blazers and the Warriors did their usual thing against the Pelicans. There were a few good games in there, including the Jazz upsetting the Cavs, but overall it was an unexciting night in the NBA. Those are nice when you’re on the winning side of the bet.
Tonight should be a little bit better from a competitive standpoints with four of the six games having point spreads at -3 or less. The Celtics and Pacers is one of those games with both teams fighting for positioning in the Eastern Conference playoff standings. That should be the game of the night with Boston being one of the better teams in the second half of the season and Indiana being really tough at home. We’ll be watching this one.
The big match-up though is probably the Clippers meeting the Spurs in San Antonio. The Spurs are 32-0 at home and have a case for being the best team in the league this season. These two teams played one of the greatest seven game series in NBA history against each other last season so there is always a chance of greatness when these two teams meet. Let’s hope we see it tonight.
NBA Betting Tips:
The Pacers are coming off a bad loss in Atlanta two days ago and look to right the ship tonight at home. It’s hard to put much stock in that one though as it came as a road back-to-back. Boston has been great this season, but they’ve done most of their damage at home. On the road, they are “just” a .500 team. This should be the game of the night, but I think the home court advantage will be enough for the Pacers. They will be motivated coming off that 25+ point loss and you can’t underestimate the advantages of an NBA players getting home. Indiana -2 should hold on for the win tonight.
The Milwaukee Bucks are a great team right now. Jabari Parker is figuring it out, Khris Middleton is great and Giannis Antetokounmpo running the offense has been a revelation. He has four triple doubles since the All-Star Break (a Bucks record) and he doesn’t look like he’ll be slowing down anytime soon. They play the Raptors tonight who had a rough outing against the Bulls in Chicago last night. The Bucks have won three straight and have played great at home this season, but the Raps are one of the best teams in the league. I can’t bring myself to pick the Bucks tonight, but I will take under 206.5 points. They haven’t come close to that number in their three other match-ups and I don’t see any evidence as to why they would tonight.
The Clippers are a great team in a league where the top two teams in the Western Conference are fantastic. Unless something drastic happens, they could go down as one of the best teams ever not to make it the Conference Finals. That being said, Clippers +9 is just too much. This isn’t the 76ers or the Nets against the Spurs. This is the current four seed in the West. The Spurs are good, but this line should be closer.
