A 1-1 record last night.

Our loss was the Hornets who dropped to the Lakers. Sometimes I wonder if anyone in this league wants to make the playoffs. I know LeBron James played a decent amount of minutes in this game and they have Kyle Kuzma and Rajon Rondo who would be solid contributors to any team, but the Hornets blew this one and it could cost them the playoffs.

We got the easy win with the Nuggets beating the Thunder. This line made no sense when I saw it and I’m glad that it came through. The Thunder could just not keep up in this one as even with Paul George playing. Jamal Murray had 27 points and Nikola Jokic added 23 points and 16 rebounds. The Thunder now sit in the 8th seed in the West by virtue of not having the tiebreaker over San Antonio. Wow.

Portland Trail Blazers vs. Detroit Pistons Betting Tips:

The Blazers have won six straight, they are 9-1 over their past ten games, and they are +6.5 point underdog here. Huh? The Pistons are a much better team at home and the Blazers are on the third game of a four game road trip, but I just don’t get this one.

Detroit has been playing good basketball and Blake Griffin is having a season for the ages that nobody is noticing. That said, I won’t be going against Damian Lillard and company here.

Portland is the better team as the third seed in the West and they are definitely in a “nobody believes in us” type of mode right now with the injuries to Jusuf Nurkic and (to a lesser extent) CJ McCollum. I like what the Pistons are doing, but this still a team that is barely over .500 facing the third seed in the West. Get out of here with all these points.

Orlando Magic vs. Indiana Pacers Betting Tips:

Do you believe in Magic? I know I said in the opening that some teams don’t seem like they want to make the playoffs, but I can’t say that about Orlando. I believe in the Magic.

This team is playing great basketball and have a 16-8 record in the second half of the season. They just had a six-game winning streak snapped and are looking to get back in the win column to improve their chances against the Heat. They are currently 0.5 games back of Miami for that spot and this is a team that definitely knows that and will be playing for that reason.

Indiana is really struggling lately with a 3-7 record of their last ten. The Victor Oladipo injury is starting to catch up to them. They are currently tied with the Celtics in the playoff chase, but have lost the tiebreaker so they are the 5th seed. They have no danger of falling to the sixth so I’m not sure how much this game matters in the long run.

This game means a lot to Orlando though and I expect them to show up and show out.
