2-0-1 last night, boom.
The push was the Suns +8 against the Thunder. I saw this line fall at 7.5 at a few books so hopefully some of you got on that. This was a classic Thunder game as they were down heading into the fourth quarter and outscored the Suns 27-17 to win by 8. That’s pretty much the exact thing we expected so can’t be too upset about the push.
The close call was the Jazz -7.5 against the Wolves. Utah got a huge 26/16 game from Rudy Gobert and were able to hold on to this one. They really won it in the second quarter as they went 33-21 in that frame and played it about even the rest of the way.
The Clippers were the big, easy win as they just outclassed the Knicks in the second half with a 71-45 finish. Six players scored in double figures and DeAndre Jordan finished with 19 points and 20 rebounds. Great team effort.
Let’s continue the positive vibes into Saturday with today’s tips.
Detroit Pistons vs. Miami Heat Betting Tips:
Schedule alert time. The Pistons have had an absolutely brutal schedule since the All-Star break and they are just 1-4 since then. That schedule brutality reaches it’s peak here against the Heat. Fifth in seven days, third in four and the second half of a back-to-back in the hottest city in the world. The Heat are in the midst of a long homestand here and could really use the win tonight. This one is a perfect mix of schedule alert, struggling team and a nice low spread. Yes, please. Give me the Heat -4.5 tonight.
Denver Nuggets vs. Cleveland Cavaliers Betting Tips:
This game is also a schedule alert, but I would like it anyways. The Nuggets have been one of the worst road teams in the league this season and face a Cavaliers team that is desperate for a win. Losing big at home to the 76ers wasn’t ideal and they should want to get back on track here. This is a great match-up for them as it’s another elite offense that doesn’t love playing defense which plays right into the Cavs’ hands.
This will be the Nuggets third game in five days, second half of a back-to-back in which they lost an hour on the way. They also get to play a motivated LeBron James who has a one-day rest advantage. Cleveland has had a rough time at home this season, but not tonight. The Cavs -4.5 are going to win tonight.
Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Utah Jazz Betting Tips:
We pushed with them last night, but we are going back against the Thunder again tonight for the very same reasons. They have really struggled on defense since losing Andre Roberson and are waiting til late in the game to make their runs. That works against the Suns, that won’t work as well against a team like the Blazers at home.
The Blazers -4 should win here tonight. They’ve been a top ten defense all season while the Thunder are at 108.5 Defensive Rating since losing Robertson. This feels like one of the big two will go off tonight.
