I hope you all got on yesterday’s tips as we went 3-0 across the NBA and NHL. A good day and a good nest egg to get us ready for March Madness. Let’s try and keep that going.
The good news for the week is that it’s looking like Zion Williamson will be back in time for the tournament. The Duke star and presumptive number one pick in the NBA draft is one of the most amazing players in the game right now and seeing him on that big stage is really something to look forward to. Duke has been my pick all along and anything less than the Final Four for that team would be a letdown. Zion gets them there.
We got the win in the NBA by taking the Hawks as they just barely lost. That team has really been doing well against the spread of late. Another team that has been doing good is the Phoenix Suns who completed their season sweep of the Bucks last night. These teams along with some others out of the race like Chicago seem to really be enjoying playing spoiler so keep an eye on that trend.
A big game in the NBA tonight is the Celtics taking on the Warriors. This was once thought as a potential Finals match-up this year, but the drama with the Celtics has derailed that a bit. There is still time for them to figure it out, but it’s not looking good. The Warriors always have their fair share of drama as well and I think it’s best to stay away from this one.
NHL Betting Tips:
Columbus Blue Jackets vs. New Jersey Devils: Columbus made a bunch of moves at the deadline to improve their team and make a push towards the Cup and… they’ve lost three of their last four games. I expect them to bounce back huge here tonight as they figure things out and also play the Devils. New Jersey is having a rough season with just tons of injuries and they currently sit 19 points out of the playoffs. Columbus has had success against New Jersey and I expect that continue here in a big way.
Montreal Canadiens at Los Angeles Kings: The Kings just won a game to end their losing streak at ten games. That was nice, but let’s not think they are suddenly turning a corner or anything like that. They face a well rested Canadiens team here who are fighting for their playoff lives. Montreal needs this win far more than the Kings and I fully expect them to get it.
NBA Betting Tips:
Orlando Magic at Philadelphia 76ers: The 76ers have been one of the best home teams in the game this season with a 24-9 record. Tonight they play the Magic at home and the line is pretty decent. The lines have been decent a lot lately for Philadelphia as Joel Embiid continues to miss games. This team looks like a real title contender, but without Embiid I don’t think they have it. That said, in games like this they have way more firepower than a team like the Magic and it’s hard to imagine a scenario in which they don’t win this one tonight.
