A 1-0 night last night. 59-34 on the season, +13.66 Units.
We took the Twins over the Mariners and this one was a piece of cake. The Twins crushed four homeruns and won this one 11-6. Michael Pineda was solid in his return to Seattle as he threw 7 innings and only allowed three earned runs.
Running a bit behind today so getting right into the tips.
New York Mets vs. Miami Marlins Betting Tips:
I am really into the Mets here as Jacob deGrom, one of the best pitchers in baseball, faces on of the worst offenses. The handed pitchers on the season have just a 64 wRC+ against right while deGrom has huge strikeout numbers and a 3.26 ERA/3.13 FIP on the year.
The Marlins send Trevor Richards who is not having a good start to the year. He has a 4.46 ERA/5.21 FIP as his walks and homeruns have been an issue. I am not expecting much out of him or his bullpen and I can even see a shutout for the Marlins here. Easy place to lay the runs.
Bet Mets -1.5 (-115)
Houston Astros vs. Boston Red Sox Betting Tips:
I don’t get this line at all. The Astros are a lot better than the Red Sox this season and Gerrit Cole is a MUCH better pitcher than Rick Porcello is right now. Cole is a way too early Cy Young leader with a 3.88 ERA/2.93 FIP on the season with some huge strikeouts. The Red Sox offense is good, but it is a lot closer to average than you might think.
Throw in Porcello’s early struggles, he has a 5.15 ERA/4.97 FIP, the great Astros offense, and the superior Astros bullpen and I am really unsure why this line is so low. Get on the Astros here.
