A 1-1 record last night.
The Athletics and Jays was an easy over. The Athletics hit it on their own as the homeruns were flowing. Khris Davis, Matt Olson and Matt Chapman all went deep as the A’s rolled.
I maybe overreached a bit with the Giants over the Rockies. Jeff Samardzija isn’t the type of pitcher I usually target and this one was 3-3 late. Whenever there is extra innings, I just assume I did something wrong in my picks and the Rockies ended up winning this one.
It’s Friday which means fresh series and new match-ups. Let’s get into the tips and own the weekend.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Washington Nationals Betting Tips:
The Dodgers have been a complete disappointment to start the season and with Clayton Kershaw and Corey Seager on the disabled list, I don’t have much faith in them getting back in the race. There is a lot of baseball left to play, but 9 games under .500 is really hard to come back from. Plus, I’m pretty sure that is about to be ten games under .500. Why? Max Scherzer.
He’s amazing and he faces the Dodgers at home tonight. The Dodgers have hit righties well this season, but this is Scherzer we’re talking about. He has a 1.69 ERA/1.75 FIP with nearly 14 strikeouts per game. I love him against this team.
The Dodgers will send Ross Stripling has had a great start to the year with a 2.20 ERA/2.83 FIP in 14 games (two starts) this year. Guess what? He’s not that good. The Nationals have a .760 OPS against righties and I’m expecting some regression from Stripling here. I’m laying the runs.

Oakland Athletics vs. Toronto Blue Jays Betting Tips:
Let’s do the over again!
I don’t like Marco Estrada against this Athletics offense. He has a 5.32 ERA/5.58 FIP and his strikeouts are way down. He’s a fly ball hitter and as we saw last night, the Athletics have some hitters who can make them pay.
Oakland sends Brett Anderson to the mound who has made three starts this year and been hit hard in each one of them. The Blue Jays don’t have the best OPS against LHP, but they have some guys in Josh Donaldson, Kendrys Morales and Steve Pearce who have historically hit lefties well. I think they score, I think the Athletics score and this one goes over.

Atlanta Braves vs. Miami Marlins Betting Tips:
I love the Braves offense. Dan Straily doesn’t scare me at all. He’s looked okay in his three starts including one against this offense last week and I think that works against him here. He’s still on the comeback trail and to face this dangerous offense twice so closely should work against him here. He could have a bad day. Freddie Freeman and Ozzie Albies have a great day.
Sean Newcomb continues to impress with a 2.51 ERA/3.08 FIP and the Marlins have just a .697 OPS against lefties. I am laying the runs here as I think the Braves are going to win big here.

Seattle Mariners vs. Detroit Tigers Betting Tips:
This is more of a logic play than anything. The last time Felix Hernandez and Michael Fulmer started games, it was against each other on May 12th. In that game, Fulmer allowed six earned runs and Hernandez allowed five earned runs. So why is this game have a total of just 7.5 runs? That’s weird, right? Throw in the way the Mariners bullpen has blown games this week and the sorry Detroit bullpen and I am going over here.
