Game four of the Warriors-Rockets series was probably the best game we’ve seen in these playoffs. Yeah, the foul shots was way in favor of the Rockets and there were a ton of missed shots close to the rim, but it was close and the stars showed up when it mattered. It came down to the last seconds and that’s all you can really ask for in these games.
A lot was made about the Warriors not calling timeout, but to me the weird thing about that finish was Kevin Durant giving the ball up to Klay Thompson in the last seconds of the game. Why? You are the biggest, most unguardable, best isolation player in this game. You are a superstar and might have an argument for the best player in the world if you showed it a bit more. Take the shot!
Game five is tonight and if the trends of this series continue then we should expect a huge game from the Warriors. This game takes place in Houston, but we saw what they did in game one on the road so that doesn’t really mean much.
The NHL is gearing up for the Stanley Cup Finals, there are hardly any MLB games tonight and this is where all the eyes will be. It should be one heck of a game.
NBA Playoffs Betting Tips:
The Warriors +1 should win this one. They are the better team in this series and there was a lot that went wrong for them in game four and they still had a chance in the final seconds. Andre Iguodala is listed as questionable, but I think that benefits the Warriors both ways. If he doesn’t play, they rally around and we see a big Kevin Durant game. If he does play, the Hamptons 5 is activated and the Rockets don’t have an answer for it.
I am expecting a big game from KD in this one and will also be betting Kevin Durant over 30.5 points. If he had been like 10% more aggressive in game four, they would’ve won and I think Steve Kerr and the other Warriors will have told him that throughout the week. He can get any shot he wants from the Rockets, but has been hesitant to take them. Not tonight.
MLB Betting Tips:
Just one game on the slate tonight that is interesting me and that is the Brewers and Mets from Milwaukee. Zach Davies returns for the Brewers and he’s been one of their best starters this year. If he gets a lead and the Brewers make way for Josh Hader, the Mets have no chance. Not only is Hader amazing, but the Mets are the dead last worst team against lefties this year.
The second worst team against lefties is the Brewers and they face lefty Zack Wheeler today. Wheeler has had some bad luck of late and is due for a bit of regression. I could see that coming in the form of the Brewers offense today who are pretty beat up at the moment.
I like the Brewers/Mets game to under 8.5 runs runs tonight.
