A 1-1 record yesterday.
The Cubs were just plain sloppy in their game against the Phillies and really looked bad to start the game. Jon Lester had his worst start of the year and had two, possibly wind-aided, homeruns, but it was possibly a Willson Contreras throwing error that cost this team the game as it led to three unearned runs. Despite all that, the Cubs managed seven runs in this game. The Phillies won 9-7.
Thankfully, we ran it back with the Twins over the Angels and this one wasn’t even all that close. The Twins got a huge performance in this won with eight homeruns (!) including two each from Jonathan Schoop and Miguel Sano. They won 16-7 and it wasn’t even that close as the Angels added 5 in the bottom of the ninth.
I’m in Las Vegas so I am making this one short and sweet today. Let’s get into it.
Tampa Bay Rays vs. Cleveland Indians Betting Tips:
I don’t think we’ve taken the Rays in a Blake Snell in a start this season and that is a shame because he is awesome. He has a 1.89 ERA/2.95 FIP thus far this season with huge strikeouts and he’s kept the ball in the park during his starts. He’s great and the Indians numbers against lefties are not. They have just a .671 OPS/76 wRC+ against lefties on the season and few of them have been as good as Snell.
Cleveland will send Shane Bieber who has a 4.55 ERA/3.23 FIP on the season. He’s had some bad luck and on another day he might be a good regression candidate, but I don’t think this is that day. The Rays hit for a .799 OPS/115 wRC+ against righties and this could be a long day for Biebs.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. San Francisco Giants Betting Tips:
Robbie Ray is a big strikeout pitcher facing an offense that stinks against lefties. They are 29th in the league with a .619 OPS/68 wRC+ against lefties. This is a great match-up for him.
The Giants send Drew Pomeranz and I’m not impressed. I think the Dbacks hit him and win this one behind a strong start from Ray.
