Tonight is the start of the NBA Finals and this could be a good one. The Toronto Raptors led by Kawhi Leonard will take on the Golden State Warriors who are looking for their fourth title in five years and third straight.
The Warriors will be without Kevin Durant for at least game one which definitely opens a window for this Raptors team. With him, this team might be unbeatable, but without him they are just very, very, very good.
Of course, the Raptors do have Kawhi Leonard who has been the most dominating player in these playoffs. He has this unique ability to just take the ball away from teams at any given moment. Game one should be very interesting.
There are a lot of questions about the Raptors outside of Leonard though. We’ve gotten some serious up and down performances from the other players and it’s really hard to gauge what we are going to get in this Finals. Fred Van Vleet was great against the Bucks, but nowhere to be found against the Sixers. Kyle Lowry always seems to lay at least one egg.
It will also be interesting to see if DeMarcus Cousins is able to come back for this one and make an impact against the Raptors big men.
NBA Finals Betting Tips:
Golden State Warriors at Toronto Raptors: The interesting thing about this series is that this is the first time that the Warriors have opened a Finals on the road. Five straight Finals and this is the first time they haven’t had home court advantage.
For many, this is a sign that the Raps have a real chance to steal game one, but I feel just the opposite. This team has had real motivation issues throughout the season and really became who they are when KD went down. This motivated them. Starting the series on the road in front of a hostile crowd should also motivate them. I like the Warriors to come out and take game one.
Bet Warriors +1
MLB Betting Tips:
Boston Red Sox at New York Yankees: There is just something about when these two teams lock up that leads to high scoring games. Even with Chris Sale on the mound, I can see the Yankees putting up some good runs. With Happ on the mound for New York, I can definitely see the Red Sox putting them up. These teams are just loaded with power and the short fences at Yankee Stadium should be kind of them tonight.
Bet Red Sox/Yankees Over 8.5 Runs
Kansas City Royals at Texas Rangers: The Rangers offense is always good for some homeruns, especially at home. They draw a great match-up against Jakob Junis for this game who has a 5.34 ERA/6.03 FIP with 2.27 HR/9. This is a fantastic match-up for the offense. Throw in Mike Minor, the Rangers best pitcher, and the Royals being very bad against lefties and this is a great place to lay the runs.
