Well my Ajax to qualify bet is looking pretty solid but I think my Liverpool to qualify bet is toast.

We’ve seen some epic comebacks in Europe so never say never – but man, we’ll need something VERY epic.

Oh well hopefully the Ajax one comes in although I’m a bit worried that they didn’t get a second goal in the first leg.

Let’s have a look now at the English Premier League for this weekend. I liked this article on the mid-table teams stepping up. That’s nice as it adds excitement.

Liverpool face off against Newcastle on Saturday while Manchester City have until Monday for their next game.

Bournemouth vs Tottenham Betting Tips:

After looking like they could be a contender for European football earlier in the season, Bournemouth are now just playing out the season.

They’ve hit a poor run of form at the moment and find themselves in 14th place.

There is some issues with the team for sure and they have quite a few injury issues. Guys like Diego Rico, Charlie Daniels out and Andrew Surman is still not looking good. Then in the game with Soton, Dan Gosling injured his calf while Dominic Solanke hurt his hamstrung.

Bournemouth just have too many issues at the moment and are in a brutal slump. Spurs do have the European distraction however just look at Bournemouths results lately. This is a team who are content with not being relegated. Tottenham can win here and cement a place in the top four for next season so I see maximum effort from them, despite their recent away results.

Newcastle vs Liverpool Betting Tips:

I think there is some sneaky value on Newcastle here.

Liverpool will be distracted by Europe and may be down after that Barcelona result. They’re going against a Newcastle team who aren’t playing too badly at the moment.

It just seems like a fitting time for Liverpool to mess up, ya know?

Newcastle have started performing well at home which is key for them. Liverpool are of course on an incredible run but with City not playing till Monday, I just get a feeling we could see Liverpool mess up.

From a competitive point I hope not. I want to see this one go all the way. But I think the value is certainly there – there’ll never be a better time to bet against Liverpool.
