A 3-1 record last night.
We were so, so close to a huge 4-0 night. The Rangers and Blue Jays were tied 0-0 all the way until the 11th inning before the Jays finally broke through with a run. The Rangers really teased us in the 11th as they had a great opportunity, but they weren’t able to capitalize on it. A weird game for sure.
Luckily, we did very well in our other games. The Braves easily handled the Marlins with a 7-2 win. The Tigers squeaked by with a 4-3 win, but a win is a win so I don’t care. We also took the over in the Diamondbacks and Rockies game and this one hit early. The total was 8 in the fourth and eleven in the 5th. From there it was all gravy and the actual total ended up at 19 runs.
Yesterday the system loved everything. There were a couple games I left on the table because they were over -160 and I don’t like to mess with those, but even those did well. Today is a different story. After loving everything yesterday, the system only likes one game today. Here it is.
Oakland Athletics vs. Pittsburgh Pirates Betting Tips:
Neither of these teams has been very impressive against right handed pitchers on the season, but the Bet MLB System really likes the Athletics here.
Trevor Williams goes for the Pirates and he’s posted a 3.38 ERA/3.53 FIP thus far. He’s ridden a low BABIP and weirdly low HR/FB rate that has kept his ERA down from the end of last season til now. I think that will eventually go against him and the Athletics offense is a sleeping giant right now. They were very good against right handers last season, but have struggled early. I don’t believe that will last forever.
The Athletics send Chris Bassitt who looked great last year with a 3.02 ERA/3.98 FIP. He’s been great in his two starts last year and faces an offense that has hit for an 84 wRC+ and .691 OPS thus far this season. I think that is a bit more real than Oakland’s numbers against right handers and that should show up today.
