How do you lose a playoff game at home when the team you are playing doesn’t have their best player? And that team plays the coach’s son for extended minutes? This is the question that the Houston Rockets and their fans are asking themselves today as they lost to the Clippers who were without Chris Paul. In the playoffs it doesn’t matter if someone is hurting, you still have to play your best every single game. The Rockets learned that last night and it could cost them the series.
On the other end of the spectrum, tonight we have the Warriors taking on the Grizzlies in game two of their series. In game one the Warriors opened as 9-point favorites and they easily covered. For this game they have opened as ten-point favorites and that number is climbing. The Warriors are so hot right now I am having a hard time imagining anyone stopping them.
Of course, that’s not all. The Wizards and Hawks play game two of their series, the NHL playoffs are back in swing and baseball is starting to get good. I know I say this every week, but this is the best sports time of the year. Let’s get into it and make some money.
NHL Playoffs Betting Tips:
The way that the Chicago Blackhawks have been playing so far in their series against the Minnesota Wild, it’s hard to imagine them losing a single game in this series. They’ve scored 4 goals in both games and just looked a hell of a lot better than Minnesota. With the series returning to Minnesota it’s easy to expect a change in fortune for the Wild and bookmakers have them as a slight favorite. For them to win a lot of things will have to go differently for them and that means scoring. Go over 5 goals in this one. Both games have had at least five goals and the Wild will need to score more to stay alive.
MLB Betting Tips:
The Yankees’ Michael Pineda gets the start in Toronto tonight against the Blue Jays Marco Estrada who is making his first start of the season after spending much of the season out of the bullpen. That isn’t a recipe for success for Estrada and when you add in his career 1.4/homeruns allowed per 9 innings, things are looking up for the Bronx Bombers. Bet Yankees -128.
NBA Playoffs Betting Tips:
The Grizzlies without Mike Conley have no answers and no chance against the Warriors. They will get what they want and the Grizzlies won’t be able to keep up with the scoring. Just a terrible match-up for Memphis. Bet Warriors -10.5.
The other big series is the Atlanta Hawks vs. Washington Wizards. The Wizards took game one in Atlanta in a bit of an upset, but that could be the outlier of the series though. The Hawks played a game late Friday night and then had to come back early Sunday morning while the Wizards had been off for a week. On top of that, the Hawks missed many open jumpers – a sign of a tired team – and that is not expected to continue. Bet Hawks -6.
