Sunday, September 29th is another busy day in the MLS with all 24 teams playing in what is the second last game of the season for them all, prior to the playoffs.
In the East, it’s looking pretty sorted in regard to the playoff standings. Chicago, Montreal Impact and Orlando City can mathematically get there over New England and that’s about it. The Revolution host NYC FC so that’s a huge game and the those three teams know there is still a slight chance.
New England need to drop points in both their remaining games however with their final game being Atlanta United, that’s a distinct possibility.
In the West, it’s very tight between Portland, FC Dallas and San Jose. Colorado can mathematically make it but I don’t see that happening.
Either way should be good stuff. NYC FC will be hoping for at least a point today to officially claim the Eastern Conference title.
Let’s get to it:
Chicago Fire vs Toronto FC Betting Tips:
The draw is one of the most appealing bets in this one based on Toronto FCs latest results. They come into this one having not lost 8 matches in a row, and also haven’t been beaten away in 5 games which is very impressive.
However in what is a must-win situation, I think Chicago FC might be able to do it.
They have picked up some solid wins at home lately and that’s where they are doing it. Away they still struggle which is common in the MLS but three big wins over Dallas, Philly and Montreal.
One of my concerns is Toronto have a knack for getting those last minute goals which can be crushing. Chicago can’t afford to turn off.
This will be the last time Chicago play at Toyota Park/Seatgeek Stadium in the regular season and with Toronto having qualified with that draw against LAFC, hopefully they took their foot off the gas.

New England Revolution vs New York City FC Betting Tips:
Maybe it’s just wishful thinking on my part but I am going with NYC FC to win. I know I am hoping they do. I don’t have anything against the Revolution – I just want an exciting end to the playoff race.
In sayin gthat, the Revolution have a bad run of 5 games without a win. 4 draws in there but still – not the sort of form you want going up against a team looking to clinch the division title.
Look at the way New England had to come from behind just to get a point against Portland. They’re just not looking like a playoff team at all. Always have to be concerned with a team who is playing on the road but NYC FC at least have the 2nd best road record. Alexandru Mitrita is running hot and NYCFC got the win against New England a couple of weeks ago.
I am backing the Revolution to blow it.
