A 1-1 record last night.

Do not bet against Damian Lillard. That’s the lesson from yesterday. Lillard scored 61 points last night, his third sixty point game of the season, and the Blazers now have lone possession of the eight seed in the Western Conference with one game left to play.

This was Lillard’s third sixty point game of the season and he is only the second player in NBA history to do that. The other? Wilt Chamberlain. That’s elite, elite company and just an incredible performance. If they make it into the playoffs they will face the Lakers and while that is not a great match-up for them, they are a far harder match-up than the Grizzlies or Suns.

Unfortunately, we took the loss thanks to those 61 points. We bet the Mavericks +2.5 and they lost this one by three points. I saw this line finish around +3 so congratulations on the push if you got it. One of those situations where the earlier bettors miss out and the later ones cash.

We did manage to get the easy win with the Celtics over the Grizzlies. The thing we were looking at here was the Grizzlies defense on three-pointers and the Celtics good shooting. Well, The Celtics made nine more threes than the Grizz as they shot 43% from deep. They took a 56-40 lead into the half and never looked back.

By the end of the day we could see some playoff matches locked in with the Heat, Rockets, Clippers, and Nuggets all in scenarios where they can clinch their spots. The most likely match-ups look like:

– Lakers-Blazers
– Clippers-Mavericks
– Nuggets-Jazz
– Rockets-Thunder

There is a chance that the Rockets can catch the Nuggets and the Jazz catch Thunder. I’m sure they’d like to, but a Harden-Paul first round match-up would be fantastic.

Miami Heat vs. Oklahoma City Thunder Betting Tips:

The Heat looked fantastic at full strength against the Pacers and we should see that version of the team again today. Jimmy Butler was looking like a real superstar and if he is locked in, I think the Thunder can be in trouble today.

Oklahoma City is 3-3 in the bubble and their injury report is not looking good. Steven Adams has been out the last three games, Dennis Schroder is quarantining after the birth of his son, Shai-Gilgeous Alexander missed his previous game, and Danilo Gallinari missed his last game as well. I think we’ll see some of them for this one, but the depth is not pretty.

Miami is known for their depth and their injury sheet looks pretty clean. This definitely feels like a game where the quality of the Heat bench can lift them. Tyler Herro and Derrick Jones Jr. combined for 35 of the bench in the win over the Pacers. I don’t see the answer to that from the Thunder.

Bet Heat -1

Los Angeles Clippers vs. Denver Nuggets Betting Tips:

The Clippers can clinch the second seed with a win here and they are a -5.5 favorite.

That’s not what we’re looking for here though. This one is all about the over. Every game the Nuggets have played in the bubble has had a final total of 230 or higher. That total came in the first game of the bubble and every game since that one has had a total of 234 or higher. They are playing crazy high scoring games every time out and I see no reason why that does’t continue here.

The total here is 229 and the Clippers have also gone over that number in their past four games plus another game that ended at exactly 229. This is an offensive league and this game should see a ton of scoring. Get on this line before it goes up.

Bet Clippers/Nuggets Over 229 Points
