A 2-1 record last night.
The Clippers came back with a big 130-122 win against the Mavericks to take a 2-1 series lead. This score is definitely closer than it looks as the Mavs were +9 in the fourth quarter. Kawhi Leonard had a big 36 point, nine rebound, and eight assist game. While Paul George’s shooting struggles continued. The big news out of this one is that Luka Doncic left the game with a sprained ankle. If he’s going to miss any time, this series is over.
Boston is now one win away from closing at the series with Philadephia after a 102-94 win and a cover for us. This game had a similar rhythm as game one where it is close through the first three quarters before Boston closed it out in the fourth. Boston got the win with a late 10-0 run thanks to a few mistakes by Joel Embiid. That is going to get the headlines, but Philly’s 29.5% shooting is the real story here. A few more makes and they are making this a series.
Our lone loss was the over in the Jazz/Nuggets game. The Jazz offense did the trick, but the Nuggets just had an abysmal performance. This is still a series, but Denver looked really out of sync in this one and will need to play better if they want to compete in this series.
Yesterday also saw the Raptors take a 3-0 lead against the Nets in the NBA TV afternoon special.

Indiana Pacers vs. Miami Heat Betting Tips:
The Heat have been great on the defensive end in this series as they’ve allowed 101 or less in the first two games of this series. This is a situation where if they were traveling I might see things switching, but there is no reason to think that anything is going to change here. The Miami Heat have the Pacers’ number on defense and I’m not sure there is an adjustment that can be made to fix that.
I’ve had this series penciled in as a sweep and I’ve seen nothing to change my mind thus far.
Houston Rockets vs. Oklahoma City Thunder Betting Tips:
Whatever the Thunder are doing isn’t working and they’ll need to make some adjustments here if they want to try and make a series of this. The Rockets have shot very well and James Harden has been dominant on the offensive end. I’d love to say they’ll find a way to stop that, but I just don’t see it. If the Thunder are going to have a chance they need to play the Rockets game and speed things up on the offensive end. They are going to need to score more than 108 points, their high in the series, if they want to win this game.
I am not sure they can do that, but they are definitely going to try and that’s why I’m going over here.
Los Angeles Lakers vs. Portland Trail Blazers Betting Tips:
We’ve seen two relatively quiet scoring games in this series thus far as both haven’t even came close to the over. The injury to Damian Lillard’s left index finger is the big story here as there are questions on how that is going to affect his shooting. I don’t really have an answer for that, but the Lakers whole game plan is to make life difficult for him and a bad finger is not going to help that.
The first two games in this series had totals under 200 and with the Lillard injury I feel safe in thinking it is going to end that way again. That’s the kind of game the Lakers want to play and they should get it.
