Don’t you just love Sundays? There’s nothing quite like waking up early, watching some Barclays Premier League action and then enjoying the NFL!
And of course today, Sunday October 3rd is even bloody better because we have NFL action early on. Going by eastern times, we have the Jets vs Dolphins from England to kickstart the day.
1pm sees an interesting match up between the Jags and Colts. Can Bortles come back after last weeks defeat against the beaten up Andrew Luck? We’ve also got the 3-0 Panthers visiting Tampa, and the 3-0 Falcons hosting the Texans.
Later on in the day the Packers go up against the 49ers as they look to heap more misery on San Francisco. The Denver Broncos are at home against the Minnesota Vikings in what should be a good game, and then the evening game is the Cowboys vs the Saints.
We have an excellent sporting day ahead of us – and then next week we’ll be able to celebrate the NHL being back. That’s pretty darn awesome! Of course next week is just the one game – Senators vs Canadiens – but it’ll fill that void between the 4pm games and the 8:30pm game.
Let’s get to this weeks NFL Betting Tips:
NFL Week 4 Betting Tips:
We’re going to take Raiders -3.5 against the Chicago Bears. As of this writing it’s not knowing if he will play or not. He really, really shouldn’t and honestly it’s a disservice to his teammates that he is pushing to play. He should do the right thing and step aside for the week.
Raiders have looked good this season already and we believe that Del Rio is the man to keep them grounded. Complacency can obviously become an issue but we don’t think it will at this point in the season. With or without Cutler – we’ll go with the Raiders for the win and to cover the point spread. Although bonus points if you can get it at -3.
The big UK game is Jets vs Dolphins and we’re going with Jets -2. However we do want to remind people that the UK games can be vastly different – you never know how jet lag will be. There is always a lot of wild cards in games like this so you don’t want to go balls to the wall with your bet.
Jets should be able to stop the Dolphins offense but it’s always risky. Take them but only bet half a unit.
Bills vs Giants Over 46.5. This was one where we argued about it in the office. We feel the Bills defense won’t be able to stop the Giants and their ever improving offense. Especially after we saw the Bills secondary exposed against the Patriots. But the Bills defense CAN be solid and we can see a few interceptions. End result is we like it to be a shootout either way – and are going to take the over here.
We’ll go the other way with Jaguars vs Colts Under 48. Bortles is hot and cold at the moment, and the Colts offense can’t get anything going. Do they turn it around this week? Maybe – but 48 points is still a high price considering their misfires as of late.
