We’re into Week 5 of the NFL and of course the big news is that the worlds greatest quarterback isn’t suspended anymore – that’s right; Johnny Manziel is now free to come back and play!
I expect I’m not the first one to make that joke, and I groaned a little bit just typing it. Of course the big story is that Tom Brady is back and people are already talking about how angry he will be, and how he’ll run up a score of epic proportions against the Browns.
However you do have to wonder if there’ll be any rust there. We also have to note that this is a team that lost 16-0 to their rivals the Buffalo Bils. Brady will be a big lift for the team of course, but the Patriots are going to have to score early on because otherwise there will be a lot of pressure.
With that line only being at 10 it makes it an interesting one. I thought we’d see a ton of people betting on the Patriots and moving the line. It did open at -7.5 of course and moved to -10 or -10.5 depending on the book. I don’t know – that’s one game where I flip flop. I think a large part of it depends on the first drive or two from the Patriots and how that works out. Personally I’d skip it and look for other opportunities this week.

Texans vs Vikings Betting Tips: Brock Osweiler is not someone you can count on, and the Texans are visiting Minnesota to come up on a very hot Minnesota team. Despite the loss of Peterson and Bridgewater the Vikings can seemingly do no wrong with their defense stepping up every stop of the way. They’ve only failed to win by less than a touchdown once this season which was against the Green Bay Packers, and I feel confident that the Vikings will dominate the Texans here. Vikings -6.5.
Eagles vs Lions Betting Tips: After a fighting start against the Colts, everyone was hailing the Lions. Unfortunately after 4 weeks and 3 tough losses they’re not 1-3 going up against a tough Eagles team. Heck look at how bad the Bears defense is and Stafford had a lot of issues with them. The Philadelphia Eagles completely dominated a Pittsburgh Steelers offense which has a variety of weapons, and I see them doing the same here. Sorry Lions fans. Eagles -3.
Steelers vs Jets Betting Tips: The Steelers are a hard team to bet as their defense is messy and we saw what happened to their offense against the Eagles. However they have so many options especially with Bell back. I’m not a fan of the 7.5 spread as I could see it being down to a touchdown but I do think the loss of Eric Decker is huge for the Jets. I was loving everything they were doing and with the Jets RB struggles I think the Steelers can do enough. I’ll be placing a half unit on Steelers -7.5.
Raiders vs Chargers Betting Tips: Both teams have been involved in shootouts already this season and I see that happening again. The Raiders defense love to give up points as do the Chargers. Looking forward to this one and I’m taking Over 51 points.
