Welcome to Week 9 in the NFL Season.
The 49ers got a big 28-25 win over the Cardinals to start the season. Vin took the 9ers -10 there and unfortunately it didn’t pan out. The short turnaround time seemed to be an issue for the 9ers defense and they weren’t as sharp as they usually are. Jimmy G helped bail them out there though and it was good to see him step up.
Let’s cover the early games in Week 9.
Texans vs Jaguars (London): Texans are 1 point favourites. Deshun Watson has been killing it lately. He had a tough game against the Jags in week 1 but things are a bit different now. Texans defense isn’t doing too well though and have lost JJ Watt. The London games are always weird but I think this could be an open one and will reluctantly take Over 47.
Bears at Eagles: Bad spot for the Bears. Trubisky had a better game last week but they look to focus on the run game and that’s not what you do against the Eagles. I don’t have much faith in the Eagles but I do think the Bears play calling will be a mess for them here, and the Eagles take this one comfortably.
Colts at Steelers: Colts are 1 point underdogs here. They’ll be missing Hilton. This is a tough game for the Colts. Rudolph and the Steelers started slow but turned it around. I think they’ll be hungry for blood here especially with Hilton out and the Colts getting respect. Steelers are my play of the day
Vikings at Chiefs: No line on the board right now. Waiting to see if Mahomes is playing. I won’t bother with this game.
Jets at Dolphins: Ugh. Honestly Dolphins look to be tanking so I gotta take Jets -3. Hopefully we see a big game from Le’Veon Bell. Rough time for him lately. Sad to see.
Titans at Panthers: Titans are 3.5 point underdogs here. They actually don’t look too shabby with Ryan Tannehill behind them. Kyle Allen will be back and have to wonder how he feels after that game against the 9ers. Why did Titans not rely on Corey Davis last week? I don’t get it. Big game for Allen with Newton on his way back and I’ll back him to step up. Panthers -3.5 and hopefully Adoree Jackson remains out as D.J. Moore should have a big day.
Redskins at Bills: Bills are 10.5 point favourites here. Bills are one of those teams where I’d like to back them but their stock has really been going down for me. No play here even though they SHOULD crush them.
Reminder that clocks went back in the UK last weekend but go back in North America this weekend. So I dunno – wake up at like 3am EST and then just sit around waiting for the London game to start. It will eventually.
