Hi everyone,
I am back with another round of NHL Betting Tip action for January 14th, 2020.
It was a heck of a day in the NHL yesterday. We went 1-2 as the Bruins and Flames let us down. However a 3u play on the Blues in regulation gave us practically a break even night.
There are 11 games going on in the NHL today and I will go through and give quick thoughts on each one. I won’t be around on Wednesday as there are only 2 games and Graeme takes over with his golf tips, but I will be back Thursday for more NHL action.
NHL Bets: January 14th, 2020
Bruins at Jackets: Can we trust the Boston Bruins right now? I don’t think so. They are a quality team but they just aren’t the same team they were earlier in the year. Their shootout results are horrendous too. This one can go either way and I am happy to bet 1u on Jackets +130. This one is a real 50/50 game so I like the value.
Red Wings at Islanders: Islanders should win here based on how poor the Red Wings are. However the odds make it not worth the risk for me. I’d hope Islanders bounce back after that bad one yesterday. Red Wings have Bernier out so they are going to be in trouble.
Kings at Lightning: Will the Lightning immediately bounce back and take their frustrations out on LA? I’ve seen a flustered Lightning offense before when they feel the need to win and they aren’t good (think last years playoffs). Unfortunately I don’t have the confidence to back LA but it would not shock me if Lightning lose again.
Devils at Leafs: Leafs are heavy favourites and Devils are in a weird spot having fired their GM. This is one where I flip between the over and the Leafs -1.5. Andersen has been a disaster for the Leafs lately. I like the Leafs more. Leafs -1.5 at +100 odds for 1u.
Knights at Sabres: Buffalo got the big win on Sunday over Detroit. They aren’t horrible at home but aren’t great. No play for me on this one although it wouldn’t surprise me if Sabres pull off a win. Knights are a bit inconsistent and can’t be counted on.
Blackhawks at Senators: Blackhawks are just too erratic to trust. No bet here.
Wild at Penguins: Wild are a disaster at the moment. Penguins however are not exactly dominating games. Both teams very erratic. I think Penguins win but Wild ARE still a quality team despite recent results.
Canucks at Jets: Vancouver are killing it right now and the Jets are a mess. I actually have a feeling that the Jets win this one though. If the odds were better on the Canucks say +130 I’d take them but +115 makes it not worth it.
Stars at Avs: The Stars run ended. They’re not a great bounce back team but they are a great team. I was going to not back them here but as underdogs even with Avs mostly healthy I’ll do 1u on Stars +130.
Predators at Oilers: I like the changes in The Preds lately. 1u on them incl OT/SO at -115 odds.
Sharks at Coyotes: No play here. Both teams trending in different directions despite quality being the opposite. Could be a close one that goes to overtime.
