I will be going through every NHL game today and giving quick thoughts. There are a lot of games going on today with thirteen games.
Let’s jump right in and thanks to Graeme from BetNHL.ca for taking the time to do an early morning phone call with me to go over these:
NHL Bets: January 16th, 2020
Hurricanes at Jackets: The Hurricanes have one of the most electric offenses in the league and now they come to Columbus who have had two back to back shutouts. The Jackets have Merzlikins in net. he is running hot. Canes are one of those teams that are hit and miss, and at the odds I am happy to take 1u on Jackets +125.
Flames at Leafs: What a defensive disaster the Leafs are at the moment. Their offense was able to carry them to a win at home to the Devils now they need the same against the Flames. They’re on fumes as they get towards the all star break. Flames are coming off that tough loss on the road in Montreal but I think they perform better here. 1u on Flames +150 to win.
Devils at Capitals: After a couple of sloppy games Washington look back in business and will want to exact revenge against the Devils, who thumped them 5-1. Knowing the Capitals they will go behind early. It’s the way. No bet here however I advise you monitor live betting and if they go behind, back them.
Rangers at Islanders: I wondered last time these two played if the Rangers offense would win out or the Islanders defense. It was the offense. I want to say the defense would win out and make a clever play here but despite the high scoring performances of both lately, the line is 6 which isn’t good enough for me. No bet.
Penguins at Bruins: Both teams will be up for this game and it should be a great game. Penguins with Crosby back and the Bruins on a slump. 3u on Over 6 Goals at +100 odds.
Kings at Panthers: Always love the Panthers offense at home. I just wish the team totals were better but over 3.5 is the only play at -130 odds. No bet on this one.
Canadiens at Flyers: Philadelphia will be motivated after that win over the Blues and will be wanting to go into the all star break strong with a win over Montreal. The Canadiens lost last night. They have a lot of injuries however. No bet for me although I want to take Montreal.
Knights at Senators: The coaching change that shocked the world. I don’t know if the Knights will bounce back from that. I’m on 2u on Senators to win at +170 odds.
Ducks at Predators: Predators should win I like what I am seeing from them lately. 1u on Preds in regulation at -130 odds.
Lightning at Wild: Minnesota are done. Time for a coaching change. 1u on Lightning in regulation at +100 odds
Sabres at Stars: Stars are the better team but just no odds here worth betting.
Sharks at Avalanche: A good spot for the Avs before the break to get the win. Not sure if they can as they are struggling. A cheeky wee bet on the Sharks here. 1u on Sharks at +180 odds
Coyotes at Canucks: I like what the Canucks can do especially at home. 1u on Canucks -110.
