We had a winning week last week in the LPGA, as we correctly predicted Lydia Ko would win the Swinging Skirts Classic. It got a bit tight, going to a playoff – but thankfully Lydia prevailed, and got us a nice little cash:
This week, the LPGA heads to Irving, Texas for the North Texas LPGA Shootout This event became part of the LPGA Tour in 2013, and has had two tournaments thus far.
The first tournament saw Inbee Park win it. She hit a -4 on the last day to overcome the leader Carlota Ciganda. Park finished up at -13 while Ciganda was -12.
The next year, Inbee Park struggled. She came tied for 14th and could not match the three 67 days she hit on the first year, with 68 being her best round. That year, Stacy Lewis went 1 under par on the first day, but then had two -7 days to completely dominate the tournament, winning by a whopping 6 strokes.

North Texas LPGA Shootout Betting Tip #1:
We are going with Stacy Lewis to win a tournament for the first time this season.
Lydia Ko has never played on this course, but based on her form it’s obvious as to why she should be the favourite. But Ko can be selective in the tournaments she plays – and playing this one seems like a bit of a surprise to us honestly. She took some time off before the Swinging Skirts and that went well for her – but we’re just not sure if she has what it takes to follow that up.
Lewis meanwhile – she’s been solid all season. She has played here twice before, winning it last year and the year before she did okay – got off to a rough start with a 72 and 70, but then found her groove and brought it home in 7th place with a 69 and a 66.
Lewis excels at this course, and we’re hoping she can continue her dominance here and become a two time champion of the North Texas LPGA Shootout.
