It’s Monday, and we’ve got a stack of sporting action to get on with today. Not only do we have Monday Night Football, but in England the FA Cup continues, we have the usual NHL action and the Grand Slam of Darts enters its third day of competition.
Yesterday, a huge, huge day in the Formula 1. Not only did Nico Rosberg hold on, but Massa got a podium to add to a great weekend for our Formula One tips. As for the NFL, well, the Steelers somehow blew it big time against the Jets. After a superb week last week, they couldn’t back up and somehow lost to the woeful Jets. Ravens comfortably beat the line, and although we were cautious of the -10 line, it wasn’t too hard for the team from Baltimore to get it done. The Raiders just couldn’t get it done for us, however. In a week that was full of surprises, that wasn’t to be one of them, unfortunately.
In the NHL, the Lightning continued their winning ways for us – they’ve done us so well so far this season, it’s a thing of beauty! Leafs also pulled it out for us, and the Oilers landed at a huge price to give us a great night in our NHL tips. Hopefully you got on and cleaned up.
Finally, in the NBA, just the two tips. We went 1-1, and the Heat didn’t even need the points against the Mavericks. When will the bookies learn? Hopefully never!
So, let’s get right to it for tonight’s action, as there’s a lot!
NFL: Panthers vs Eagles Betting Tips:
The Panthers are getting now love here, and you can see why. The Eagles are 5-0 at home, they’re leading the NFC East and don’t look capable of losing to an outfit like the Panthers. Yes, there’s a worry around Mark Sanchez, but he didn’t look bad at all when he came on to replace Nick Foles. Sanchez can do the job here against a Panthers team that isn’t firing too well at all. -7 is the line, it’s one score, and the Eagles are a team with a lot of points in them.
FA Cup: Havant & Waterlooville vs Preston Betting Tips
The FA Cup, as per tradition, has been a lot of giant-killing acts over the weekend, with Dover grabbing all the headlines. However, Havant & Waterlooville will be out to do become the biggest giant-killers of the round against the much stories Preston North End. Can they do it?
Well, as much as we’d like to see it, Preston are flying high in League One, and they are undoubtedly the stronger team. They’ve lost a couple of players to international call-ups, but they’ll be confident. The bookies think the same as we do, but instead of going for Preston outright, we think they’ll get off to a flying start and should be leading at both halftime and fulltime.
Grand Slam of Darts: Vincent van der Voort vs Robbie Green.
Not the glamour tie of the round, but it’s one with a lot at stake. Both men will be looking for the win to get into the knockout stage of the Grand Slam of Darts – it’s winner takes all. Vincent van der Voort looked good in patches in his win over Robert Thornton, and he should have taken care of Raymond van Barneveld, but Vincent let his Dutch friend back in. Green looked poor against Van Barneveld, then turned up against Thornton, knocking the Scotsman out. Green is going to be feeling more confident on the stage in his debut, and our darts expect thinks he’s the value bet of the day in the darts, as Vincent van der Voort’s form is sporadic at the best of times. He’s one of only a few men to have lost to a woman in a televised darts match, and it was at the Grand Slam just a couple of years ago, so Van der Voort has previous for big loses on the Wolverhampton stage.
NHL: Bruins vs Devils:
We like the Bruins here against the Devils, and there’s a lot of value to be had in backing the men from Boston. The Bruins have found their form, they’re coming into this game in high spirits against a depleted New Jersey side who are struggling to find any kind of form. Boston look a good thing here, and we expected them to be a few points shorter than they were this evening. Get on them!
