1-2 last night.

We started off hot with the Cavs and Rockets going for the easy over, but the last two games of the night turned against us.

Philadelphia -6.5 gave up an enormous 38 points in the second quarter that they were never able to overcome on the road against the Kings. They outscored them in the second half, but that first half did the trick and they dropped the game.

The Thunder -1 at the Nuggets were in prime position to win at the end of the third quarter with the game tied, but they were outscored by eight in fourth to drop the game. Emmanuel Mudiay had a huge night off the bench with 21 points, seven rebounds and five assists which is something that really hit us out of nowhere.

Let’s take a look at some of tonight’s games and make our picks.

Charlotte Hornets vs. Boston Celtics Betting Tips:

Since dropping the first two games of the season, the Boston Celtics have won 10 straight and gone 9-1 against the spread in those games. Their coach Brad Stevens is looking like the Coach of the Year, Kyrie Irving is looking like an MVP and Jayson Tatum is looking like a rookie of the year contender. They draw the Charlotte Hornets in Boston tonight and, honestly, why would we start going against them now?

Charlotte has been impressive this season, but their defensive rating is eight points higher than Boston. The defense the Celtics have been showing is really something else and that is why we are once again picking them tonight.

Don’t mess with a good thing, Celtics -2.5 is the bet. Let the Kyrie Irving MVP campaign continue.

Orlando Magic vs. Phoenix Suns Betting Tips:

The Magic have been one of the best stories of the early season and the young players on this team look like they have really made some great strides forward. The future is looking bright for them more and more each day, as long as Aaron Gordon keeps hitting those three pointers.

Phoenix got hot for a minute after firing Earl Watson as coach, but since then have fell back down to earth where we all thought they would be. They’ve dropped four straight and have a solid chance of making that five here tonight as a home underdog. They are near the bottom of the league in defensive ranking although it’s hard to get too much into that number because of just how bad they’ve lost some of these games.

The key to this game will be assists and turnovers. The Orlando Magic rank fourth in the AST/TO ratio while the Phoenix Suns are coming into this one dead last in the category. That’s not a question of talent, that is youth and inexperience which sums up the Suns nicely.

We’re taking the Magic -3.5 in this one. We like a lot of piece on this Phoenix team, but they remind us too much of the Magic of two years ago. Lots of talent, no experience and a safe bet to go against.
