A 1-1 record last night.
We got the win last night with the Pelicans over the Warriors. The Pelicans won every quarter of this game to get a much needed home win. J.J. Redick led the way with 26 points and Jrue Holiday added 22 points, 9 assists, and 8 rebounds.
I’m not normally one to complain about my losses, but the under we took on the Lakers and Hawks fell just five points short. That doesn’t bother me. What bothers me is that LeBron James played 33 minutes in this one and was playing in the fourth quarter.
The Lakers were never down in this game and won 122-101. There was no reason for him to be playing that late and him doing so is what ultimately led to the over. This guy is in his 17th season and we’re not even 1/4th of the way into it. Give him some rest!
Today starts a new week so let’s hit it hard.
Portland Trail Blazers vs. Houston Rockets Betting Tips:
The Rockets are on fire right now as they’ve won seven straight games and covered in all of them. They are also on a streak of six straight games hitting the under as their defense has really been playing well.
One thing I am looking at here is the load. A lot of these players have played huge minutes with a tough schedule of late. They played a road back-to-back on Saturday at Minnesota and traveled home for this one. Without Russell Westbrook, we’ve seen huge minutes from James Harden and Austin Rivers and I wonder how long that will last.
The story of the Portland season has been the complete lack of defense. They just signed Carmelo Anthony who will absolutely not help with that.
I’m not sure if tonight is the night that the Houston win streak gets broken, but I think the under streak will be. Portland needs to pour in offense if they want to compete and I think that Houston will be a bit tired here. Harden will do his thing like always, but Portland will be able to keep up and this one is going over.

Boston Celtics vs. Phoenix Suns Betting Tips:
This is schedule hell for the Celtics right here. It’s the third game of a road trip, the third game in four nights, and the second half of a back-to-back. We’ve seen the minutes increase with Gordon Hayward out and this is a spot where it should really hurt them.
Especially when you consider that Phoenix is actually good now. They have a strong rotation led by Ricky Rubio and Devin Booker. Monty Williams is doing a great job coaching them. They are not that far behind the Celtics in terms of Net Rating on the year and with the obvious rest issues, I think they can win this one.
The sportsbooks agree as the Suns are a favorite here. It’s pretty crazy to see that as it just shows how quick things change in the NBA. Change is good and so are the Phoenix Suns.
