The World Series heads back to Cleveland tonight for Game 6 with the Indians leading the Cubs 3-2 with the chance to win it all tonight. This is definitely an interesting series as only four teams have ever come back from a 3-1 deficit to win the World Series (and only three of those won the last two on the road) and it hasn’t happened since 1985, but the Cubs are favored in this game and are likely to be favored in Game 7 as well. There is plenty of reason for the Indians to be nervous as this thing heads home.
However, the silver lining for Indians fans has to be that Terry Francona is likely to manage this one like a game seven. With Josh Tomlin on the mound, you have to think they’ll make an early call to the bullpen and that bullpen is the biggest reasons why the Indians are in this spot.
For the Cubs, they have to like their chances with Jake Arrieta on the mound. He pitched the best game of this series among Cubs starters in his Game 2 win. Joe Maddon showed a willingness to go to Aroldis Chapman early in Game 5 and could be rewarded for that type of move again tonight.
World Series Betting Tips:
This feels like the Indians best chance to take this series tonight. They probably don’t feel great about the pitching match-up, but the pressure is completely on the Cubs here. They can lose and get another shot at this, the Cubs can’t. That’ll put the Cubs in a bit of a desperation mode and that could be something that the Indians can exploit.
The Indians see a slight bump in their defense by moving to the AL park as Carlos Santana can be back at DH and left field can be filled by a competent defender. The Cubs see a similar boost with Kyle Schwarber at DH, but he might not be enough the way that the Cubs have been swinging the bats in this series.
The value has to be with the home team here, if the Indians +141 can get four innings from Tomlin and an early lead then they should be celebrating on the field tonight.
NBA Betting Tips:
We’ve seen the Golden State Warriors struggle against good defensive teams or teams with a little bit of size as they are yet to cover the spread in any of their first three games. That should change tonight as they face the Portland Trailblazers on the road. Portland will let them play a back and forth, scoring battle and that is not a battle that the Blazers can win. They don’t have the defensive level needed to stop this team, allowing 111 per game thus far, and the Warriors probably feel that tonight is a great night to prove the doubters wrong. Golden State -6.
The Bucks and Pelicans have shown us one thing thus far this season: they can’t stop other teams. It’ll be interesting to see who comes out on top in this one, but it should be a high scoring game as both teams will allow the other to look better than they have thus far this year. Over 203 is the play.
