Where to start in another huge weekend of sport? Well, the Blue Jays’ season is still going after a gutsy win over the Rangers. The Astros beat the Royals to go 2-1 ahead in the ALDS in what is going to be a tight series. It was an interesting week in the NFL. We had a great game between the 49ers and the Giants, with New York snatching a 3 point win, while San Francisco didn’t suck as much as they’ve done in recent weeks. The Seahawks lost in OT, Aaron Rodgers lead the Packers to another win, even though he threw his first pick at Lambeau in two years, and Cowboy fans the world over have now had it confirmed just how much the next few weeks are going to hurt after being routed by the Pats. I mean, seriously, a 30-6 defeat will hurt a hell of a lot. How long till Romo is back? Too long, that’s for sure.
In qualifying for the 2016 European Championships, the big story from Sunday is that Albania have qualified for their first major tournament ever. They finished behind Portugal and ahead of Denmark to finish second in Group I and claim one of the coveted spots in next year’s competition. There’s two more days of fixtures, but most of the places have already been filled. There’s one thing for sure, with such a different make-up of the competition next year with the likes of Iceland, Wales and Northern Ireland competing, Euro 2016 will be a tournament that should keep everyone guessing.
Now, let’s get onto the free sports betting tips for October 12th, 2015.
Monday Night Football Betting Tip:
The main thing we have to note here is that Big Ben is out for the Steelers and it isn’t going to be easy for Pittrburgh tonight against the Chargers. It’s Michael Vick against Philip Rivers in an interesting match, purely because we don’t know what to expect from either QB. Rivers was imperious last week after looking below par at the start of the season. And with Michael Vick, well, do you ever know what you’re going to get?
Add into that the injury list for both teams and it’s a hard one to predict. The Chagers are favourites by a handful of points, not enough to make it interesting for us, as it really could go either way here. However, I like the look of the points spread – both QBs have a point to prove and they’re going up against depleted teams, which actually makes it look a bit like a pre-season game with so many starters out. Over 45.5 points is the recommended play here. Both sides should come out firing, and is the Chargers let the Browns put 27 points on them last week, the Steelers should be able to do that or at least come close.
Expect a scrappy but exciting game tonight.
2016 European Championships Qualifying Tips
For the most part, tonight’s matches are dead rubbers, but there is an interesting set of fixtures in Group C, with Slovakia taking on Luxembourg and Ukraine taking on Spain. Ukraine need to beat Spain and hope Slovakia drop points away at Luxembourg to have a hope of getting automatic qualification. Spain have already qualified, so look for a weaker side tonight, giving the Ukrainians a great opportunity to secure a win here, and the price is pretty tasty, too. So, Ukraine to beat Spain is the first selection.
The other game worth looking at is Sweden versus Moldova. Yes, it’s going to be a Sweden win, but how comfortable? Well, Sweden won the reverse fixture 2-0 in Moldova. But what’s interesting is that Moldova don’t score many goals (4 in 9 qualifying games), but they also don’t concede many (14 in 9 qualifying games). Sweden aren’t banging in the goals either, scoring 13 in 9 games. Go for under 3.5 goals in Sweden vs Moldova. 2-0 or 3-0 looks the likeliest of scorelines here.
